When a group is co-signed by the likes of The Cool Kids, the latest and greatest hipster ensemble to hail from the Windy City, you can expect some similarities as far as style and sound. While Ko*Starz members R. Dott, K. Rich, and Young Starr do take inspiration from their mentors, their own unique flair is out in full force on their latest release. 18 & Up is dedicated to a mature crowd and features a sultry beat from R. Dott, over which the fellas take a slow motion approach to a relationship with a special young lady, crooning and rhyming about their plans for the evening. Expect more up-tempo records when the group drops their new, yet-untitled EP, due out early next year.

This topic is pretty fun...but this song overall is not that good. The hook is nice, but the rapping is sort of wack. The first guy was the worst. The second verse was a little better, but nothing special. The singing was the only thing that shined on this track. I'll throw it in rotation for that alone, cuz that hook was pretty hot.

Pretty entertaining lyrics, poor execution.

Really simple production. Yet affective. The singer should have been turned down during the rapping. He out shined them during their verses. Once again the core vocals killed the song for me. I liked the hook and the production.

I'm feelin dis track. Beat is simple, but da concept is raw. Sometimes simplicity is overlooked. Jus keep da quality up. I'mma spin it!
