Don’t strain yourself trying to figure out what K’naan is singing in his new single Soobax; some sections (including the chorus) are not in English. With a half African, half reggae beat to dance to, however, there is plenty besides the words to enjoy here. Featuring newcomer MWafrica and M-1 of Dead Prez, the song seems to speak out on the problems of the world without focusing on any specific one. As an example, one of the lines in the chorus translates roughly to, “You’ve spilled the blood so that it drains on the road.” K’naan’s new album, The Dusty Foot Philosopher, will be released in late June.
For some reason, I am feeling the production on this track! It is really different and I am feeling the reggae beat! I can jam to this; and He is spittin the TRUTH on here if you listen closely. I'm gonna give it a SOLID 3 for rotation!!!

This is HUGE north of the border. His style and his sound is refreshing and very summertime. Peep the deluxe version of the album when it drops in June people; I think it will change your perception of how impactful hip-hop is around the world.
I think this type of beat and sound belongs under the genre world--now known as international: african music (you can even even go to subgenres such as moroccan, nigerian). Regardless of what it is called, it has a nice touch.
K'naan's message is cool ,but what is the boy sayin on the hook? I love Dead Prez! This song is kinda weird from a production standpoint. It deffinatly fits FIFA, sounds like a soccer song to me. Not my thing!
