Kirby Maurier - I'm Jus Sayin'
Artist: Kirby Maurier
Producer: Jackpot
Album: Untitled (TBD)
Label: Valholla Entertainment
Most of the time, “I’m Jus Sayin’” is used to soften the impact of bad news when you don’t want to be the messenger. As in, “50 Cent, I don’t think Erin Andrews is into you like that. I’m jus sayin’.” (Thanks to RefinedHype’s Fails of the Week for that example.) Indie R&B songstress Kirby Maurier flips the script on her new single by that name, using the phrase as she tells her man just how happy she is to have him in her life. Jackpot‘s catchy, hip hop-infused production bangs in the back as the singer assures the fella in question, “I’ll never go, never go away.” Feeling it? For a limited time, leading up to its March 19, release via iTunes, this record is available as a free download from Maurier’s official site. So you might want to act now—I’m just sayin’.

Vocals were OK... This was a bit all over the place to my ears. I don't think I'd play it again.

If you think about it, how many real vocalists do we have in mainstream R&B? Kirby is really singing and her songwriting along with the dope production from Jackpot makes this a solid record.

I'd bump this again, I thought the rapper saying stuff in the background was cool.

I like the beat but I think the singing in the first and second verses need to be adjusted to make it a little smoother, and sounds like she's going a little too hard on a track that doesn't need it. But I do dig the truck overally.

Kirby's vocals are those of an outstanding well trained
singer. Her voice has tone and presence, and she uses it with style and emotion. |

No one has vocal chops in this market like Kirby Maurier, she's definitely destined for the "big time" if she continues creating with this type of passion! Another addictive track, it gets greater later.
