Everything may be a gamble, but when an underground vet like Allentown’s King Magnetic steps into the Booth with a hard-hitting, retro-informed jam like this new single (the emcee’s first feature), it’s a good bet that reader acclaim will follow. On Fullest Extent, DC the Midi Alien‘s ominous, percussion-heavy boardwork sets the stage for the aggressive lyrical stylings of Magnetic and two equally high-caliber cohorts: rap revolutionary Immortal Technique and fellow underground mainstay Termanology match the headliner blow for blow. DJ Kwestion tops the track off with some guest scratches on the hook (it’s a good night for fans of old-school turntablism, huh?), borrowing the titular line from Mobb Deep‘s Party Over as well as grabbing a snippet from Funkmaster Flex, Akinyele and Sadat X’s Loud Hangover. King Magnetic’s latest mixtape, Everything’s A Gamble 2, won’t be available for purchase till 2010, but those who pre-order it on the artist’s website can get a free bonus disc in the bargain.

When I had no clue what hip-hop was all about and my older friends were trying to get me hip to it (wow - there is that word again...) this is the type of record I would be played. This is straight "old school." Love it.

Dope old school track. If you didn't read my review on CyMarshall Law-Harder Than Thou, I said that I love scrathes and samples and this song is full of them. The beat is also kinda dark which goes great with each rapper.

"When I had no clue what hip-hop was all about this is the type of record my older friends would play." @*#$! exactly. This one definitely brings me back to my younger days when I had no tolerance for bulls**t, when I'd only listen to the hardest underground hip-hop (shout out to Boston's 88.9). Magnetic, Immortal and Term and unf**kwithable, and yeah, I just made that word up, but it was necessary.

Nice verse from Immortal Tech. His older albums were monotonous with the flow but he's improved a lot on that.

All Rappers drops tight verses filled with thought and brawn alike. Good production too but overall can't rate this any higher than three-stars.

I thought Immortal Technique would be dead by now based on his previous work and opposition of the worldly "institutions". Termanology is another one that spits the real $hit, so it is great to see them all on a track with King Magnetic. The beat is that nice old-school-go-in-on-em DJ premiere @*#$!. They all spit Sick on here! BANGER!

I'm diggin that ol' school scratch vibe. Magnetic, Term, and Immortal brought it hard with that "make u sit up and listen" type energy.
