I first heard Ready Set Go on T.I.’s latest project F**k a Mixtape and from the first note I was thoroughly impressed. Created by one of the game’s finest producers, No I.D., who uses an Indian sample to create a bouncy, Timbo inspired beat custom built for blasting through speakers, Ready Set Go finds two of Atlanta’s top dogs coming together for a combination deadlier than drinking and driving. Since the track is actually going to be featured on Killer Mike

Mike Bigga’s upcoming 16 in the Kitchen album, it’s only right that he’s the lyrical star here. Tip may give Mike a hook that mirrors his murderous name, but the Grind Time general’s ferocious flow steals the show with NSFW lines like, “Your style been ran thru like a freak bi**h/the pu**y club where you hanging/frequent, Ed Hardy ass ni**a with ya sequence.” I’m really digging this one, and if you are too, remember to grab Mike’s Pledge Allegiance to the Grind 3 mixtape, coming soon, to tide you over before the as yet unscheduled 16 in the Kitchen drops.

Since it seems like an eternity ago that Mike was signed to Purple Ribbon, its hard to believe its been less than five years since Killa latched on with Clifford and Grand Hustle.

Though Mike has been more patient than I'd be waiting for the label to get behind him, it appears the wait might be worth it as the end result on "Ready Set Go" is thumbs up.

I was like "wtf this sounds like Killa Mike". This song won't be tearing up the radios or be the standout song on an album but its a solid listen.

I downloaded T.I.'s mixtape last week and still have not gotten around to listening to all of it.

T.I. lays down some impressive vocals in the intro, almost whispering on the hook to make us listen even more closely. Mike does a decent job with his verses, a decent song all around.

Mixtape was good a couple songs I'm still banging, this song is just above rotation I think. Might not be the best off the album but it'll get listened to.

Not only is it one of my favorite tracks on mixtape, it brings some flair to Killer Mike's dominant presence in street joints. Production is addictive and manages to hook the listener right in with a harmonized piece of sample and both T.I. and Killer Mike takes care of the rest. The drums should have been thumping just a bit more, but still, song would fit comfortably in a club surrounding.

It he back to Killer Mike after that ill-advised Mike Bigga name change? Is he just doing both now? Either way, this is the kind of fearlessly aggressive rhymes I've come to love from Mike. Like David Banner, he's got his raw style, and his political style, and they both bang hard.

BTW, it's unorthodox to essentially release an album single on another man's mixtape, but I think it's a good idea. A lot more people will hear this via F**k a Mixtape than would otherwise.

Production on this is stuck in my head just from the first play. The sample was worked in perfectly and T.I.'s guest feature was a huge success. Killer Mike did his thing with this track, but unfortunately I wasn't really feeling this track as much as everyone else. I could listen to this every now and again, but it wouldn't be long before I got tired of the sample. Nice track all together.

This song would be so much better without that voice in the background. Killer Mike was nice on this. TI was alright on this.

No I.D.'s beat is crazy and Mike's flow goes perfect with it. T.I. sounded great with the ad libs (something Diddy hasn't mastered) and I love his whipser-voice on the hook. Great song to get Mike's album out.

While this prob won't be burning up the airwaves any time soon, records like this separate "great" projects from "good" projects. Needless to say, "@*#$! a Mixtape" is a must DL.

I still haven't heard that crazy breakthrough T.I. record that I have been waiting for. I think the "I'm Back" track is the closest to 56 Bars we are going to get for now. Anyway, this isn't even a T.I. track! The beat is pretty cool. Killer Mike is OK...he is so-so on here. It's just OK to me...
