Don’t expect Killer Mike to lighten up anytime soon. As long as there is a bone to be picked and a fight to be had, he’ll keep proving why the adjective he chose to precede his name is also fitting to his demeanor. His next single, Can You Hear Me, is a bitter reproof of the circumstances that make his “grind” just so necessary. Like the first few singles off his recent album, I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind Pt. 2, Mike spends most of his breath throwing blind (but nevertheless legitimate) accusations at nobody in particular. Crown King Productions contributes an epic-sounding beat, matching his no-nonsense rhymes. It all culminates with the knockout line “we took the crack and put it in rap/ now your kids is high off that.” When it comes to Killer Mike, “just say yes”, kids.
Killer Mike looks like Suge in that picture, real talk. (Now notice how I commented his picture and now I'm STILL leave details of my opinion on the track) The beat and hook is real tight, but the girl on there makes it sound cheesy. Does anybody notice how she sounds like Amil who used to be on Roc-a-fella records? Weird. I wonder if that is here. I heard she worked at Home Depot somewhere...lol. I'm not a big fan of Killer Mike....as a matter fact, not a fan at all. But this is a decent track and the best thing I've heard. It has a epic feel to it. I'd play this again. I like his energy on the track as well. I can dig it.
I'm trying to believe Killer Mike with his whole new inspirational, politcally charged lyrics, but for some reason I'm seeing right through it. This song is tight though, and a huge improvement from his other newer stuff. Hot chorus as well, this song has potential.
I can't believe that no one has pointed out how similar he sounds to Ice Cube on this one?!?!!?! Im lovin it, that girl does kinda make it cheesy, but its a BANGERR for sure, Mike kills it, beat goes hard.
WOW @ the production! Absolutely super, love the beat and the music! I don't like so much his voice, though. The overall track is a banger but I quote chandi93, wouldn't play this in the club or in a party
