Killa Kyleon - Make Me
Artist: Killa Kyleon
Producer: Tha Bizness
Album: Candy Paint & Texas Plates 2
Label: Unsigned
Previously heard contributing guest rhymes to cuts by Kid Ink, Big K.R.I.T., LeToya and the Grit Boys, street veteran Killa Kyleon is long overdue to step into the Booth with a debut solo feature. It’s taken long enough, but the former Boss Hogg Outlawz member’s perpetual paper chase has finally led him to our front door (or front page, as the case may be). Freshly-minted single selection Make Me is a Southern-fried banger which finds Kyleon expressing his unflagging devotion to the grind. Beat crew The Bizness set the proper mood for an H-Town hustle anthem, serving up a smooth-yet-gritty mix of piano chords, brass stabs and synths as Killa recounts long days and night whiled away in the pursuit of lucre, lacing his bars with blunt motivational wisdom: “Nothin’ comes to a sleeper but a lullaby / All money good—they say it ain’t, but that’s another lie.” Lone Star State neighbor Jack Freeman rides shotgun, paying smooth and soulful tribute to the Almighty Dollar on his guest hook. Like what you’re hearing? Then keep it locked—Candy Paint & Texas Plates 2 has yet to receive a solid drop date, but you’ll be first to know when that changes.
