Those with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things hip-hop (aka DJBooth Nation) will recognize Kidd Kidd as the guest on the album version of Lil Wayne’s hit single Mrs. Officer, but for those who need to get caught up on the New Orleans rapper, let’s get to catching. On Crack Rock, the first leak off his upcoming mixtape and his official debut on our pages, Kidd Kidd recruits producer Lil Homie to craft a lightly synthed but still hard hitting beat for him to rhyme over, and rhyme he does, flipping as many crack referenced lines as humanly possible: “Thank god for crack rock / combination on the safe…cracked…jackpot.” In other words, they’re exactly the kind of bars that will offend some, and make fiends for his music out of the rest. So how about it Booth? Does this new rawness have you wanting to cop more, or check into the nearest rap rehab facility? Those fiending for more addictive rap from Kidd Kidd should keep an eye out for his forthcoming album, The Reallionaire, due out March 22.

I am not sure if "Crack Rock" is the song that is going to blow up Kidd Kidd as the next N.O. success story, but from this effort you can tell why folks in high places are talking so favorably about him. There is a confidence (they call it swagger, I believe) in his voice and he has a delivery that is made for the masses. Vocally he isn't overly impressive, but I'd like to give him a few more submissions before I close the book on that aspect of his game. Lets see what the future holds...

Well, the production from Lil Homie has a great flow to this. And Kidd Kidd did nice on his verses in this. Also, im feeling the energy of the song. It's not that big of a record tho.... In rotation for me...

I don't think I can get with the epidimic that still to day helping kill African Americans. But that is his opinion. Anyways the song is below average in my book and doesn't truly deserve to be feature on DJBooth.
