Kid Sister - Lookout Weekend
Artist: Kid Sister
Featuring: Nina Sky
Producer: Nadastorm
Album: Jersey Shore (Season 2) Soundtrack
Label: Downtown/Fool’s Gold
As an Italian-American, and a Jersey native by birth, I find MTV’s Jersey Shore to be deeply offensive, and… aw, who am I kidding? I actually love that show, and you’d better believe I’ll be watching every single ridiculous episode of Season 2. With respect to Pauly D, though, I think there’s room for improvement on the musical front. Enter Kid Sister with Lookout Weekend, the lead single off the second season’s official soundtrack LP. Here, the pulse-pounding percussion and sizzling keyboard of Nadastorm set the stage for a celebration of, well, celebration; in her high-energy verses, the femcee who brought us Pro Nails explains that, when she gets her hands on a microphone, the result is an instant party. Handling guest duties are twin-sister duo Nina Sky, who contribute an infectious chorus along with a bilingual bridge. Whether you’re living it up at the Shore this summer, or (like me) you’re just gonna party vicariously through The Situation, Snooki and co., you’ll be able to find more high-energy tunes on the soundtrack LP (available now). If you’re craving more from Kid Sister and Nina Sky, well, keep it locked for all the latest!

I hate Jersey Shore and everything that it stands for (the downfall of MTV, reality TV, and entertainment in America in 2010), but I love Kid Sister and her infectious, high-energy party joints. This is no different. I won't front like I wouldn't enjoy hearing this in the club.

The production is very club friendly, and Kid Sister is energetic on the mic. The hook is catchy enough, making this track absolutely rotation worthy.

Kid Sister and Nina Sky? It's two artists I was convinced were going to blow up, and then have kind of faded into the background. When I said I don't usually enjoy this kind of electro-pop this is what I was talking about, but that's just a personal preference. For the kind of track it is, everyone here did a solid job.
Shout out to Debbie Deb. My 80s babies know what I'm talking about. |

Catchy, energetic, a degree of radio potential, but the production could have been fuller. Maybe with a little bit more synths in the background.

Kid Sister, and Nina Sky seem to always have a hot party record out. I like the energy of the song. I'm not into the fist pumping thing, but I can see a crowd of fist pumpers going crazy to this.
