Kid Sister - Kiss Kiss Kiss
Artist: Kid Sister
Producer: Afrojack
Album: Kiss Kiss Kiss Mixtape
Label: Downtown/Fool’s Gold
I love surprises. Actually, let me rephrase that. I hate surprises when they come in the form of, say, a flat tire or a overdraft fees, but when they involve new music from Kid Sister, the Chicago singer/emcee who’s been largely absent from our pages for over a year, I’m all for it. The Jersey Shore soundtrack aside, new song Kiss Kiss Kiss is the first we’ve heard from Sister since 2009’s Right Hand Hi, and if Triple Kiss’ uber-uptempo feel is any indication, she’s been spending a lot of time in the clubs in the interim. Producer Afrojack builds a pounding and simultaneously light beat that Sister rides over with equally high energy rhymes and an energetic yet soft hook (she clearly learned something from Nina Sky during the Lookout Weekend recording sessions). If you’re looking for the audio version of chugging three Redbulls, you’ve found it. Kiss Kiss Kiss can be found on the Kiss Kiss Kiss Mixtape, co-presented by the band Kiss and the radio station Kiss, and dropping January via Fool’s Gold. (Note: Ok, fine. Neither of the aforementioned Kiss’ are actually involved.)

I love Kid Sister. Yes, I have supported her for years. And yes, she is from my hometown of Chicago. BUT, the reason I love her has nothing to do with either. Simply put, she makes music that expresses her personality like almost no other artist I know (personally, or otherwise). Its hyper, its kinetic, and somewhat off the wall. And for anyone who likes to get up out their seat and move, or have a good time, its perfect ear candy.

This is kind of like pop-techno but it definitely works here. Kid Sister could find herself starting a whole new "music fad" in the pop-club-hip-hop" world that we're now living in.

Im really liking this record from Kid Sister. I love the Pop-Techno beat in this. This is a defenit club banger. I can see ppl dancing to this for a long time... Most artist when they make songs like this, they dont really have a straight on point message in it. And KId Sister has it in this. And i really respect that from her. The production from Afrojack is perfect. A banger for me.
