The Kid Daytona - Lifted
Artist: The Kid Daytona
Featuring: Styles P. , Vaughn Anthony
Producer: NVME
Album: The Interlude
Label: Jack Move Inc.
Whether your drug of choice is music or Mary Jane (or both), I’m guessing you know exactly what it’s like to have one of those days. One of which days? You know, one of those days when you just wanna get Lifted, and leave your worries and cares far behind. Sound like today? Then this cut, the latest mixtape leak from The Kid Daytona, should be just the thing to elevate your mood. Backed by NVME‘s blissfully relaxing, sax-sampled production, the freestyle series alum and recent Booth interviewee free-associates his way through bars as engagingly scatterbrained as fans have come to expect. On the middle, D-Block vet Styles P. steps up to the mic to deliver some blunt, and blunted, reflections of his own, riffing on the classic weed-flight analogy (“Superman, but I left my cape in the booth though.”), and up-and-coming crooner Vaughn Anthony (previously heard on Crooked I‘s Let Me Buy You a Drink) delivers the coup de grace in the form of a smooth R&B chorus. Craving more uplifting joints (pun intended) from the Bronx native? Seek and you shall find on Daytona’s forthcoming The Interlude mixtape, due out tomorrow via LRG.

The first few leaks off the new project were solid, but nothing truly spectacular. You know, the type of record that you tell your friends about. "Lifted" is not THAT record, but its damn close (and the best we've heard off the new project). Glad to see our friends at LRG backing Daytona. He deserves the support.

The vibe on this is so dope - and I'm not even a smoker. Huge props to NVME. And that's not to downplay Daytona and Styles, who both rode the beat nicely. One of those records I could listen to on repeat five times back to back.

I agree with DJ Z. This is a great record, but not the best. I dont see this being on the charts, but we will see. The Kid Daytona did great in this, and the feature of Styles P. is perfect for this record. The production from NVME is very nice. The chorus makes it that much better. Good overal record. A Banger for me.

if this is the best they have offered up to this point, they should be worried.
