Kid CuDi - Mr. Rager
Artist: Kid CuDi
Producer: Emile
Album: Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager
Label: Universal Republic
There are certain makeovers that hip-hop just will not accept from artists (please, leave your Weezy-Rock comments at the door). Strangely enough, the industry seems to be content with claiming Kid Cudi as their own, even though he’s created his own subgenre of solemn, albeit intricately creative, stoner hip-rock. With the official version of Mr. Rager, the latest track off his sophomore album, we find Mr. Solo Dolo once again pushing the envelope on a new class of music that has yet to be truly defined. With somber production from Emile (not Kanye, as incorrectly reported elsewhere), Cudi bounces through a darkness of melancholy lyrics and offset vocals, continually trying to find himself in his music through dual personas. Regardless of whether the man’s trademark sound turns out to stand the test of time, it’s living strong in the here and now. If you liked this glance into CuDi’s psyche, be sure to keep a lookout for his highly anticipated Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, due out October 26.

This is one of the best records Cudi has done... ever. And no, I cannot be wrong because this is only my opinion. Please do not confuse my comments as pseudo-fact.
I honestly cannot get Cudi saying "Mr. Rager, Mr. Rager, Mr. Raaager" out of my head. |

Kid Cudi is a true artist. His willingness to experiment with different sounds and arragements continue to astound me. When I think of the production behind his work I think of Pink Floyd, Led Zep and 80's punk rock influences. Hes a brilliant risk taker.

This is the Cudi I LOVE. The dark, kinda weird world he creates with these songs. As Jay Vintage said, this is very reminiscent of the sound off his first album. I can't wait to hear this song tied in with the rest of the album.

Solid track but "Erase Me" was better. Cudi's still on a climb tho.

Finally a Cudi leak that is up to par with anything he put on his debut album. The dark, hazy beat is very nice. Mr. Rager is so far the best song I've heard out of all the leaks for the new album. And it is by a longshot.

WHen the subject of Mr. Solo Dolo comes up around my friends, I Kid (haha get it...anyways) you not, all i hear is "KiD CuDi is amazing" or "Yea I took your copy of Man on the Moon to Dallas because I wanted to show my friends the CD". Of ALL the songs that have been leaked this year, this has to be my favorite (and so said the millionth person).
At first I was gonna rate this a 4 but then I thought about it. I really thought about. Then I came to the conclusion that there is no way in hell I could give it a four. Thirty years from now when I am taking my KiDs to college and drop them off and on the highway, this song is going to come on and I would have to pull over because I would remember when I was young and cry. Cry that I have made it so far in life, I would actually think back to my earlier years cry that I made it and successfully made new life and passed the torch to my son/daughter. (Hypothetically) Any song that will be able to make me cry thirty years from now easily deserves 5 stars. |

Nothing will ever touch CuDi Zone. Also its not gonna be fair. Man on the Moon 1 came out of nowhere. There is no way any of his next works will come anywhere near close to that

I didn't like the track at first, but as the song went on, I slowly began to get into it. I wasn't that big a fan of his recent Man On The Moon album and with the date Man On The Moon 2 drawing nearer and nearer, I'm curious as to what it's gonna be like.
From a first listen through, I was skeptical. He can't sing, yet somehow he pulls the hook off with flying colors. Overall, I really enjoyed this track. |

this isnt the hit that Cudi needs to launch his album, though its still a pretty good album track. This would of sounded right at home on his first album.

This is his defining track on the album. And if the song is omnious like alot of people have been saying then this will go down as his best song.

I'm def. a big fan of Kid Cudi. I feel Cudi has been there for me when I was going through tough decisions: School, girls, work, and life in general. This song is another relatable hit destined to prepare the Cudi Fans for his Classics that will likely hit us in the months ahead.

Great production, great vocals, this is probably my favorite song from MOTM2 besides Mojo So Dope. This would have fit in the first album, hopefully there are more songs like this on the new one.

I think this is my favorite track from Cudi's new CD so far. Erase Me was poppy and ok. REVOFEV was a good song too. But I feel like this was Cudi's element here. An emo type track from an emo type minded rapper. I'm usually not a fan of this kind of stuff but I like Cudi, probably because when he raps it I actually feel like he feels that way in his mind. Good stuff

Absolute madness from Cudi... I knew there had to be a few of these in store for this album! I don't understand the song for $#!t, and it's been haunting my mind for hours... totally love it! Lmao @ "stoner hip-rock" couldn't think of a more accurate description of whatever it is Cudi does

Anotha Kid CuDi Classic i agree this is one of his best songs hes made and i have to admitt i love the fact that this dude aint afraid to be himself and experiment with so many different styles and sounds in a industry that seems so based off of "The Image". He definitly aint afraid to be himself on a track and hopefully this will help to create the new "Image" of hip hop because if you ask me it artsist lie him that add creativity to the game and keep hip hop interesting.

Cudi has no issue with testing the lines of genres and he does it again. The production was well done on this and unfortunately (or fortunately if you are Cudi) this is one of those songs that will cause brain rot because you can't stop thinking and replying it in your mind.
