Although he’s currently on tour with the always eccentric Lady Gaga, Kid Cudi is still finding time to turn out tracks. His new freestyle Cudderisback, featuring rhymes about weed, clothes and girls, is familiar territory for the man, but he’s got the skills and bravado to make these seemingly insignificant things sound fresh. Produced by Rostam Batmanglij, Cudderisback mixes in hipster favorites Vampire Weekend and their song Ottoman for a strange, melodic beat that at first seems out of place but ultimately meshes perfectly with Cudi’s flow. No one in the rap game makes stonerism sound cooler than Cudi, and although the track is short he gets right to the point in the first line: “Stay home a lot, no TV, just thoughts, and a heap of good weed.” Cudi fans rejoice. Not a part of any official release, Cudderisback appears to be an attempt by Cudi to make sure we don’t forget his name. Keep it locked to DJ Booth for any other unexpected Kid Cudi releases.

It took a while for Cudi to grow on me, but I am hooked now. Anything he does I need to hear. This is no exception. Nice freestyle (too bad we couldn't have gotten it to be apart of our exclusive series).
@Dj Freestyle - It will be featured tomorrow! |

I aint really like the intro thing. this song is coo. The beat is a lil "too kiddy" at some moments. But ROTATION.
PS. this is the best nite on the booth in awhile.! |

I really enjoyed this song. Unique everything that comes together well. Question though, I've seen teh word freestyle been thrown over all kinds of things recently, a lot of which I'd never consider a freestyle. Is this actually a off the top of the head freestyle (seems quite doubtful)? Or is this just a sick track cudi recorded that isn't part of any album?

CuDi has quickly become one of my favorite rappers. The reason being because he experiments and brings undeniably fresh music. Great freestyle.

Man, I know I'm going to get a flood of "you're a hater" comments, but I feel like Cudi uses the same cadence and flow on nearly every track. I'd love to see him really switch it up. This is more quality product from Cudi, he never comes soft, but I'm not in love with it.

I like the production on this track. Cool chorus. I like the overall flow of Kudi on here. I had a few laughs on here as well. It just sounds creative to me. I would give it a 3.5...

OKAY HOLD ON A MINUTE... IS IT JUST ME OR HAS THE MEDIA SATURATED OUR BRAINS? I'M NOT TOTALLY HATIN ON CUDI I MEAN HE'S MAKIN HIS MONEY, CAN'T EVEN HATE THAT. NOT REALLY A FAN. TO ME DAY N NIGHT WASN'T EVEN RINGTONE WORTHY BUT SINCE WHEN IN THE HELL HAS A FREESTYLE WITH A BEAT THAT REMINDS ME OF JUNO OR I'LL EVEN GO AS FAR TO SAY SOMETHING THAT BELONGS ON A RUGRATS SOUNDTRACK AND AND AND HE IS BASICALLY TALKIN OVER THE BEAT WITH SOME ELEMENTARY RAPS TALKIN ABOUT HOW MUCH HE'S ON HIS OWN JOCK DESERVED 4 STARS? MAN THE MEDIA IS KILLIN HIP HOP AND WE ARE JUST SUPPOSED TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT? EASY-E IS ROLLIN OVER IN HIS GRAVE RIGHT NOW I KNOW THAT AND FROM DETROIT. I WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO FONZWORTH BENTLEY SPIT SOME BARS ABOUT BUSSIN' A GAT AND SLAPPIN SOME HOES BEFORE I GIVE THAT 4 STARS COME ON NOW. I BET BOW WOW WHEN HE WAS STILL LIL' WOULD HAVE LAUGHED THAT BEAT OUT OF THE STUDIO. -REALTALKTRUSTORY

The beat is sick!!! tempo, that sample, and CuDi's flow, it perfectly fits his style and manner. Good job, Rostam! Enjoyable listen!
And "Man On Moon" is on repeat for me but is also playing tennis with "Boy Meets World". Both are TIED up for the best hip-hop debut of the year, in my personal list. @Nathan - That ain't no haterism, sir. Instead it's a legit statement, though I won't say on nearly every track but yeah he can definitely use some more variety in his delivery. |

First off, Kid Cudi going on tour with Lady GaGa is like Led Zeppelin going on tour with the Jonas Brothers. His ability and potential far outmatches hers.
As for the song, it's ok. Would've liked to hear a LOT better intro, and the production is nothing to be impressed with, but Cudi kills, as always. He was the only part of this track I liked, but having said that, it was an ok song. |

I actually enjoyed this beat, and Cudi has a nice voice, but he is just a bit self involved for me. Most of the time he comes with the same old cadence and i'm yet to hear a song where he doesn't talk about how great he is or how he feels bad for himself. I loved day n night, but have been continually disappointed since. Sorry, it's just been on my mind for a while.

the thing i love most about cudi is that the more u listen to this track, the more his lyrics makes sense.
like cudi said... "maybe if i was simple in the mind everything would be fine" cudi is real, he speaks about life. he's def one of the best mc's in the game. this track is different which is why i think it's a banger! |
