Kevin Rudolf - Don't Give Up
Artist: Kevin Rudolf
Producer: Kevin Rudolf
Album: None (Promo Single)
Label: Cash Money/Universal Republic
With the headlines full of news about unjust killings and a depressed economy and message boards across the interwebs filled with those proverbial haters, we could all use a little positivity and encouragement. And if that positivity just so happens to come in the form of a catchy hook, all the better. Resident Cash Money rocker Kevin Rudolf, who broke out with Let It Rock, is back to work on a new album and our first taste is an appropriately uplifting new single Don’t Give Up. Produced by the headliner himself, Don’t Give Up is built around an acoustic guitar line and some well placed hand claps, resulting in a toe-tapping affair that’s nearly impossible to frown through. Vocally Kevin keeps it simple, delivering a catchy but straightforward melody chock full of words we all need to hear sometimes: “People out there doubt what they can’t see / but there’s a shooting star that you were born to be.” While Rudolf’s new album has yet to receive a title or release date, I think we can rest assured that he won’t give up until he’s got both.

Sounds like Rudolf has decided to roll with a more soft rock/pop sound. Which isn't entirely a bad idea. I am surprised, though, that we don't see a guest 16 from someone in the Cash Money camp. A little rap infusion could help this become a crossover success instead of just a Top 40 hit.

This is way too poppy and sounds a little country on the chorus for me, idk I am just not feeling it.

Good work doing the beat and the vocals, but all together it's not my type of music...

Guitar solo... Your time is gonna come around! So uplifting This guy should do a duet with Nickelback and probably shouldn't be on the DJ Booth website at all Is he on DJ Booth because he is on Cash Money, which is associated with hip hop? I don't get it. Why is he on Cash Money again? Wayne it's time to give this guy the axe! |

Not Hip Hop at all but this is a good jam. It is a better fit on my local soft rock station but I will give it 3 stars without worrying about the genre.

A motivational, radio single. Appealing demographically to high school girls in majority. Promising revenue!
