When last we featured Kevin Cossom, he was preparing to release his debut EP, Pre Album, as well as announce his new major distribution, and as of today he has done both. While fans will no doubt be playing the EP regularly, Cossom’s Jive signing is worrying, as the label tends to push back its artists’ releases for extended periods of time. Luckily for him, Pre Album includes a potential nationwide hit; on My Ex KC notices an old flame while at the club with his lady, and is tempted to leave his new girl behind. Featuring a beat by his N.A.R.S. Records boss, Danja, and a guest verse from old client Rick Ross (KC co-wrote Speedin’), this cut is one that must be enjoyed in the proper setting – coming out of computer speakers, it might not sound that great, but if it’s spun in the club, here’s hoping you hang on to your woman!

Oooo, this track is meeean! That production by Danja is just nasty! I love the way Cossom comes on here and smooths it all out. I love these swagger hyped R&B joints talkin about ex's, hasn't been a lot around lately but I always enjoy them. Ross was a good addition, there's a HUGE handful of artists that could have blessed this song, but I'm not hating on Ross. Overall 4 stars, damn.

O my....I love Kevin's voice- SEXc az FUQQ!- damn!;) BUT ANYWAY, the beat was just ok and RICK ROSS again???!-Ahhhhh go away! All in all, it's in roation.

I'm gon rate this by 40 seconds... NICE VOCALS! Yes man, you convinced me without the hook and even before the featuring! THIS IS A WELL DONE FALSETTO (not that travesty JT did on "If I"): not too high to the point of being annoying, just making a sweeter voice seem effortless!
I didn't notice Danja was the producer, but now I'm not surprised at the great stylish production. |

WOW :) is officially a female, now I know why u have most of the time real bad taste in music. I am not trying to generalize, there's always many exceptions. But u the prime example...
Damn I hate when male singers sing so high pitched. sounds like a drag queen. This right here is a little below average. I am not sure about KC. His voice doesn't really stick out to me. I would have a hard time to recognize him among all those other modern R&B cats nowadays... |

This BANGS!!! As it started playing I knew I would like it. Does the beat drown out the chorus a bit? Or is that my cheap earphones... No worries this is gonna be banged on my system soon!! I know The Dream would've done great on this also. Kevin Cossom is superb, Rick Ross is average, I must check out that EP now

I like dude's voice.
This is a wack beat but he makes it a good song. I'm not a big fan of Ross but he did good on this. THis song is barely a 4 but it's there for me. Nice job Danja |

Wow! Way to keep it all the way real Kevin. I mean we may as well be listening to songs that address what it REALLY is out here.
Production is bangin' the beat is real cool, smooth and sexy. He's not just singing just to be singing. Thhis song actually talks about something and vocally Mr Cossom has what it takes to get noticed out here. Rick Ross wasn't that impressive but It's not really even about him on this track. I wish they would have just left his part out, but big names help the new peeps sell - so I feel Cossom on that tip. |

I prefer Late Night to this, though its still reasonably solid. The production by Danja is fair sweet
