When we first featured Keri Hilson‘s Turnin Me On, the record received only faint praise from DJBooth regulars, though many thought that Lil Wayne‘s guest verse was the cut’s saving grace.  Now, the R&B singer/songwriter is back with a brand new remix of the In A Perfect World… single.  This revamp retains Polow Da Don‘s club-friendly beat, but trades Weezy F. Baby for veteran emcee Busta Rhymes.  Wooing Hilson with suave compliments and promises of matching ‘his’ and ‘hers’ mansions, Busta comes off as more chivalrous than Weezy, whose self-involved and somewhat ungentlemanly verse on the original was a potential turnoff for female listeners, but can his slow flow compete with the off-the-wall stylings of the self-proclaimed “best rapper alive?”  You be the judge.  Though the debut LP has suffered numerous delays, Hilson’s label has stated that In A Perfect World… will most definitely be dropping March 30, 2009.

I don't think Weezy F Baby was the problem. Busta's effort was not enough to save this song from the shame it shall receive.

I was always a fan of the production from the original. The video was mad hot, but I think Keri really brought down the quality of both versions and made it seem like a little too immature and pop-ish for me. Busta was not bad on here, Weezy still showed him up. This ones just OK, maybe a 3 but not for now.

The original was way better than this version. I really dug the song. This new version was okay, but the intro was wack. Busta sounded so uber wack on this man. Weezy's verse was WAY better. I agree, the video was fly too. They needed someone other than Busta Rhymes.

ok then....Well, the original was a whole lot better than this...I didn't even like Keri to begin with on the original, I only liked Wayne and now that Wayne is gone- it's not good and having Busta on the track made it worse. Period.

Mr. Top Hat, I dunno if its the production, it probably isnt. But the idea of the song sucks. My opinion about the production would probably be totally different if Hilson wasnt on it & the context of the song was completely different. It just dosnt suit Hilson at all (i dont see here being that talented of a singer to be honest). So yea, I was probably wrong in saying the production was poor, but it isnt one of Polow Da Don's best work. I was also wrong in saying that Busta was better then Weezy, because after re-listening to both, Weezy is much better on the original then Busta is on this. Hopefully a good freestyle using this beat comes out and proves to me that the beat is good, just not used effectively in this song.

Polow Da Don never disappoints me...I didn't see it was a production by him and the first thing I thought was "wow what an amazing production"! That's obvious, it's Polow Da Don's! Polow Da Don + Keri Hilson = banger to me, almost always. His songs have got such a great energy and her voice is lovely!

I didn't remember the original edit and I went YouTube it..I like this version more. The production is the same and, as said, I like it but Weezy sounds terribly in his verse! I got used to hearing him but he wasn't suitable to this beat I guess

I listened to the 2 versions again...this is basically the same but it's faster. Am I right? maybe too fast! The perfect banger should be the first version but with Busta instead of Weezy
