I think the world of Keri Hilson and her rise from songwriter to R&B/Pop headliner, but all of her material these days is sounding very tired.
The hook on "Pretty Girls Rock" is super corny and, while radio-ready, feels like two steps back instead of one step forward. The production is the stand out element on display here.

I don't know how this happen but Keri seemed like she couldn't fall. A talented singer and songwirter. A team of hot producers surrounding her (Timbaland and Polow). Oh yeah, and she happens to be fine as hell. But everything that's been leaking lately sounds weak. This isn't as bad as some of the songs I've heard but nothing compared to the ones on her album.

If I could jump in here, I think a lot of Keri's earlier music had these hints of soul that gave her sound something special, but here it's much more straight pop, and as so she sounds so much more generic. I could leave or take this one.
And yes, x20nickel's right, I certainly don't hate Keri cause she's beautiful. I couldn't help myself on this week's MBOW.

This is pretty cool right here. It started out worse than it actually is. The production is pretty cool. Keri's voice is always really nice and smooth. She sounds pretty good live as well. This track just sounds a bit too bubble-gummy to me, but other than that it could be a decent radio track. Rotation.

This is tons catchier than the respectful "Breaking Point", but I don't see Keri picking up too many radio spins from this. The track doesn't completely click besides the production.
