I love music that reflects reality. Despite the club hoppin’, bottle poppin’ BS that has plagued urban music lately, it’s good to know that songs like Keri Hilson’s new single Breaking Point are still being released. A bouncy record with slow burn, Ms. Keri Baby’s latest is one of contemporary R&B’s best attempts to return to the days when singers like Faith Evans and Mary J. Blige dominated the radio airwaves with tunes that centered around the preciousness of a woman’s heart. Long time collaborator Timbaland comes through in the clutch with the production, showing that his sound expands much further than crazy samples and complex percussion. Keri’s vocals are the highlight here though, as the beautiful songwriter’s words echo a strong message that anyone with relationship experience can resonate with. Expect this drum heavy single off of Hilson’s new No Boys Allowed album (which also features production from Polow Da Don and Ryan Leslie) to hit radio soon, and stay tuned into the Booth for all the latest leading up until the album’s late-2010 release.

I am sure there are droves of Keri Hilson fans who will throughly enjoy her new single. Unfortunately, I cannot get into it. I think the pacing is a little too slow for my liking.

Keri doesn't blow me away, most of the 3 stars are for the production, has a very western feel to it with the bells. Well done Timbo.

This is a smooth flowing track from the production to the vocals. I think 3 stars is selling it a bit short. This will go into my rotation..that I am sure of.

Keri may not have that knockout r&b voice, but I still really enjoyed this one. The beat, the lyrics, the delivery, as a whole package, it really works. Applaud that woman.

Vocally I think Keri ripped it, her voice isn't as strong as some but it works for her and she can really sing. The harmonies and stuff give it this old school feel

personally i was disappointed with her first album...there were some good songs on it...but when u had the nicest producers at the moment in Danjahandz, Polow Da Don, and Timbo the king...the album should've been more than what it was...
as for this song its different but atleast its a real topic and it has a real feel to it...its decent not a banger but def listenable... |

Keri hilson is an artist with very limited vocal capabilities, and she knows when to stay within her range. But this song requires a higher vocal pitch that she cannot reach.

My anthem for 2010 and big ups to Keri for making a song for the women out there! It is definitely true that every woman has one b/c I have had one and its nothing pretty. If men listened to this then they would understand why we spazz out like we do sometimes and make a change just maybe.
