Dance hits have been creating a mess on the charts lately. From Ke$ha’s Tik Tok to Akon’s Sexy B*tch, one thing has remained the same: uptempo production. Kelly Rowland’s new record, Commander, seems like it also has the potential to burn up the charts, and have people burning up the dance floor. Rowland has inked a new deal with Universal Motown and Commander is set to be the first single on her currently untitled, upcoming album. The David Guetta-produced jam will definitely have dancers fist-pumping in their favorite Jersey Shore re-enactment. Vocally Kelly delivers a performance that marries Guetta’s production perfectly, and also working in its favor is the fact that Commander was penned by Rico Love. Yes, the same Rico Love who recently wrote Dirty Money’s smash Hello Good Morning. All that adds up to a song that can easily serve as theme music while you’re pre-gaming with your friends or going to your favorite club. But will it get the DJBooth moving? Comment away.

While nothing that David Guetta ever produces will be my personal cup o tea, I cannot deny his ability to craft a club-centric record that gets everyone going on the dancefloor. Again, he is a winner here with Kelly Rowland. Not sure how her longtime Destiny's fans will like this one, but who cares... she'll make plenty of new ones.

After their previous collaboration on "When Love Takes Over" I was hoping that she would find a new home in the Dance/Electronic crowd. There just simply is no room for Kelly in R&B and her talent has nothing to do with it. This is a great move for Kelly. BPM listeners on Sirius will eat this record up. David Guetta is a monster and was right to trust David with this song.
Completely different from "When Love Takes Over" Kelly sounds deep and grungy. I Love It!! Aside from that the track is amazing. I'm sure to be requesting this late night in the club for the Dance set. |

its definitly a start up beat into this explosiion of emotion from rowland its its FIREEEEEEEEEEEE wow what a track this beat is way on point and should take over no doubt on radio.

As soon as I saw this was a Kelly Rowland song for the Club, I knew Guetta had to be involved in some way. "When Love Takes Over" was a great song that got overshadowed by the equally great "Sexy B*tch".
I love that Kelly Rowland is going this route because there really is a lot of room in this genre for her to blow up. "Commander" really is a dance floor scorcher. With summer coming up this song can really hit the charts running but that we will have to wait and see. |

When the chorus comes around, the song really starts to get good. It just makes me want to dance right now, which I guess is the objective of the song. It even has a somewhat quiet person saying dance in the background. Kelly performs well here but the production is the highlight.

Without even listening to the track, I can guarentee this will blow up in Australia. The combination of Kelly Rowland & David Guetta will always deliver strong download sales over here.
After listening to this, I can say that this is a reasonably catchy song that should do some damage in the clubs. Production from Guetta is great for the clubs & Kelly sounded good as well. Im expecting to here this song alot so I should probably enjoy it before it gets overplayed & annoying. |

It's been a minute since I heard this name. Kelly has a great voice as everyone knows. This has dance hit everywhere. People need to stop focusing on Drake and Eminem and look at every song on this update because they're all great.

I know this site isn't really big on techno-electro production, but I really love it, and the reason why this might get underrated on the booth, is because it's hard to judge this kinda tracks when you're on the computer, and not on the dancefloor. Kelly sounded really good, and fresh on this.

Just like Kelis, it seems like a lot of female r&b singers are going the club/electro route, although Kelly's doing it much better than Kelis. Not something I'm personally feeling, but for what it aims to be it definitely succeeds.

It’s just such an aggressive record, it’s a club record, it’s a worldwide international record.
She’s stretching herself out and she’s showing her true vocal abilities which she possesses, she’s like the queen of the night on this record. This track is an absolute club hit and one for the radio. David Guetta has once again produced another club hit. |

Catchy? Not to me. Nothing that couldn't have been done by any other female singer, have no identity. She has a beautiful voice - I so wish she’d USE it, and this kind of sound should be beneath her. But I guess she has to fit in somewhere. This kinda club music... is not for me.

David Guettas production is always sick! This will get everybody moving and I don't care if you like country,classical,jazz,rock...you just can't help but dance to this.
The clubs will love to have this blasting through their speakers and this will be a hit or should be at least. I guess Akon's route works for a lot of people, including Destiny's Child alumni. What I'm most happy about is that her vocals fit absolutely perfectlt with the production and it makes a enjoyable and danceable track! |

Not a big fan of David Guetta, but he makes nice tracks for the clubs. Kelly's vocals are on point. I don't see me listening to this unless I'm in the clubs, which will be quite a while.

Why so generic? ;) I want a HIT from the lovely Ms Rowland! Something like "When Love Takes Over".
She proved she has a great crossover appeal with that record, so I hope this works for her. The vocals are great, above the average in this type of music. |

I've always been a fan of Kelly Rowland and David Guetta. This type of music fits Kelly Rowland to a "T" She is able to really use her Vocals like no other. Congrats Kelly. We thank you for teaming up with David to produce some great dance hits.

I have to disagree with so many who have commented. I think Kelly's talent is clearly displayed here. Kelly's sound is like nothing she has done on Destiny's Child or even in her solo R&B career. She switches from this gritty low talklike singing to belting out her commands. I have to disagree and take this out of the generic category and put it on a platform above crossover artist perfection. Still a Banger. Still a request at the clubs. Still an open windows on the way to the club pregamming Banger!
