The music game isn’t for the faint of heart, but Booth newcomer KeilyN (brought to our attention by Terry Urban, host of Gilbere Forte‘s recent, Booth-sponsored Year of the Dragon tape) has the combo of diligence, determination and sheer bloody-mindedness to make it happen. Don’t believe me? Simply take a listen to new single Joe Jackson, which finds the Ohio rhymesayer spitting about his will to succeed over the head-noddable production of Yazu. Complete with guest bars by James John, this joint is scheduled for inclusion on forthcoming mixtape Timing, due out February 22.

The track name alone brings this to the top I mean come on "JOE JACKSON" kinda scary twisted shit but you can title this JANIS JOPLIN and still have Paul Wall wishin he can spit real talk.

Youngstown! We out here! Keilyn is what hip hop needs more than ever. A real dude, who raps about real things. No swag rap, just the real. Dude drops nice lines, but doesnt bury his listeners with punchlines. He really allows his audience to digest his message. The whole tape is dope. Joe Jackson is my absolute favorite song on the tape!! My man James John adds a much needed element to this track too. Kinda wish we woulda got a verse from him tho. Hopefully a remix down the road.
