keb0 - Amy Winehouse
Artist: keb0
Producer: Joshua "iRock" Adams
Album: Wildest Dreams Held in Captive Reality
Label: Unsigned
Nearly six months after her untimely death, the music game continues to mourn the loss of Amy Winehouse. The latest artist to pay homage to the late soul songstress in song, indie rhymesayer keb0 takes inspiration from Winehouse’s Black to Black on his latest album leak, rhyming over beatsmith Joshua “iRock” Adams’ mournful sampling of the ‘07 single and album title track. Wildest Dreams Held in Captive Reality has yet to receive a release date, but keb0 assures us that the project is “coming soon.” In the meantime, keep it locked to The DJBooth for the latest news and tunes.

Keb0's flow is decent on this track, but the beat is so sad and somber sounding that I don't think it compliments the style of Keb0. The chorus drags too much for me.

Been rockin wit Keb0 for years now. Def seein progression in both of our crafts. Much love bro.
Sidenote: You spelled my name wrong. It's "iRock" not "Rock". I know its trivial, but its a meaning behind it. Thanks for the love on our track tho. Def appreciate it. God Bless |

Been following Keb0 for years and this song not only showcases his growth and obvious potential, it also demonstrates the musical connection he and "iRock" possess. The beat not only compliments Keb0's style, but it also coincides with the introspective lyrics he delivers on the track. Yet again, another nice track off a "can't wait to hear" album.

keb0's flow is keb0's flow. I myself have made the mistake of trying to compare his flow with others', and have seen the fault in my comparisons: keb0's flow is most DEFinitely unique. The honesty, self expression, and portrayal of emotion in his flow is undoubtedly more expressive then the couple of standard flows that circulate the industry. Talib's flow isn't to be compared to Eminem's solely on the grounds of 'flow', neither is keb0's to be compared to another's based solely on 'flow'. A lot of it has to do with the intention behind it.
Being an avid follower of keb0, I can definitely say that he has improved significantly, as demonstrated in this track. His flow and lyrics grab at the heart, and I have a feeling that that's exactly what he was going for...: Mission Accomplished. Justin "iRock" Adams' transformation of Amy Winehouses' beautiful creation, "Back to Black" is proof of the hard work and harmonic deliberation that was put into this track. He most DEFinitely meant for this song to mean something more to the listener than a simple club banger; this beat is clearly meant to be a canvas for reflection and emotional conveyance. Job well done, iRock. Props!!! Great job kebo and iRock! Keep 'em comin'...! |

Been following keb0 for a minute now, and one thing that has remained consistent is the honesty and emotion in his words and delivery. My dude truly has a unique sound, which continues to polish with every project he drops. Salute brother!

Beat? Check. Flow? check. Reality rap that actually focuses on the reality of this thing called life in a dope way? Check. As usual the homie brings that ill talk through. The beat gives it a ill laid back feel and really meshes well with the poetry. Dopeness

One of my fav's by far. Possibly better than Imaginary Hands. Even though it is on my top 25 most played on my Itunes I know Keb0 can do better. I've got high expectations for him.
