Katy Perry - The One That Got Away (Remix)
Artist: Katy Perry
Featuring: B.o.B
Producer: Dr. Luke and Max Martin
Album: Teenage Dream
Label: Capitol Records
When Teenage Dream dropped in the late summer of 2010, even the most optimistic didn’t think that Katy Perry would be as bad as Michael Jackson with five Hot 100 top ten hits. Looking to break that record is dramatic new single The One That Got Away, which today gets the PYTs entranced with a remix featuring B.o.B. Maintaining the original Dr. Luke and Max Martin production, here Perry enlists the Atlanta emcee to use his thrilling charisma to help millions of teenagers across the world identify with the concept of an idealized, youthful and eternal romance. With yet another rapper collab under her belt (see the Kanye-assisted E.T.) Perry shows that she’s no Billy Jean as she pushes The One That Got Away to the top. If it reaches #1 successfully, it will be the sixth chart topping single from the album, breaking MJ’s all-time record for most singles to reach #1 from the same album (Thriller). Along with Bobby Ray’s involvement that’s a pretty good reason to debut Ms. Perry on The DJBooth, eh? We thought so…and if you don’t like it, we dare you to try and beat it!

Katy, after 5 #1 singles what needs to be said? B.o.B was the pop-perfect choice for a record #6. I would be super surprised if this one doesn't also climb the charts.

This is pretty good, but not my type of track. It was good to see B.o.B. on there, but it just is what it is... I liked her first album singles better...

I agree with Blaze, this isn't a bad song, but not something I would listen to on the regular.

I wonder if KP doesn't get enough credit for her vocals?
B.o.B sounds like his good usual self |

It's alright, but I didn't think B.o.B was the right choice for the opening verse...just didn't seem to fit right. Might make it to the top 10, but number 1? I can't really see it.

The only thing I like about this song is B.o.B,'s verses, the rest is useless! Sorry but every Katy's song sounds the same. I only like E.T.

I like it, I just wish that B.o.B's verse transitioned more smoothly. It almost sounds like two totally different songs to me. If these two do work together again I do think they can make some hits.
