Flashing paper around and fronting like you’re a Gangster might impress certain women, but it won’t score you any points with Booth newcomer Kat Dahlia. Not only is the NYC singer/emcee and recent EPIC Records signee perfectly capable of supporting herself financially, but she can see right through the machismo of self-proclaimed G’s. On her latest promo single, previously leaked to the ‘net in an unfinished version but presented here in its final, mixed/mastered incarnation, the 21-year-old artist reminds us that youth doesn’t necessarily equate to naivete, spitting about her life struggles over a piano-loop beat by J. Dens. Complete with a chorus subversively paraphrased from Fitty‘s Wanksta, this cut isn’t attached to any forthcoming project, but those digging it can stay tuned for more from Kat Dahlia, including the latest on her currently untitled/unscheduled studio debut.

Rare talent and very original style. She takes a unique lyrical stand point that reminds me Ab-Soul or J. Cole. Beat by J.Dens fits the vibe of the lyrics. Perfect mix of R&b and rap. Excited to hear more!!!

Kat Dahlia's style is sick! She has a mean flow with a cool voice to match. Good work on the beat by J. Dens. I'm definitely eager to hear more from her cuz this is a BANGER!

Very unique come up, not your typical cliche/stereotypical cut in any sense. Looks like she has her influences but still eclipses around an authentic original sound. Nice Debut! I'll def. keep an eye out. Keep it up
