Nothing is more frustrating than knowing how you feel about a special someone, but whenever you have the chance to tell that person how you feel, you simply draw a blank. Appealing to a large contingency of love-struck, tongue-tied teens is 16-year-old singer Karina, who just last month made an appearance inside our DJ Booth. On her new Ryan Leslie-produced single, Can’t Find The Words, the Def Jam signee explains “…The chemistry we have is hard to find / but to find the right words it’s going to take some time.” While relationships sometimes fall victim to a lack of patience, fans of the Washington Heights, New York native will need to exhibit plenty; Karina’s album doesn’t drop until August 12.
Note: The streaming of “Can’t Find The Words” has temporarily been suspended.
Man, Ryan Leslie is like one of my new favorite producers now, after hearing this. He was wooing my ear for a few weeks with that "Addicted" and "Diamond Girl", and now this takes the cake. I'm really loving Karina Pasian. Her last single "16 At War" was genius and so it this. For her age, she is really a mature vocalist and I can't wait to cop "First Love" on August 12.
I think this is much better than 16 at war, I felt that her fist single was almost gimmicky (albeit catchy). This track definitely sheds some different light onto her, it shows that she's a good artist and has great commercial appeal. I can really see this catching on with mainstream radio.
Obecalp, I don't know why you and a few other people on here keep saying that. I mean, to me "16 At War" really seemed different than any track you would expect a singer her age to drop. It was deep, conscious and her vocal were strong....and the only thing that was catchy was the hook.....Because it was the hook! LOL. So I was just wondering. Could possibly yourself and others who agree with Obecalp explain while they thought "16 At War" was a run of the mill joint?
I know that drum. Killing me softly! I miss you Lauren! I love what this girl stands 4. She is always uplifting and positive, showing our kids and lil sisters what it means to have self respect and still be beautiful at the same time. Her voice is strong, her production as tight and this song displays that to me. This doesn't strike me like 16 at war, but it is a nice melodic track that I think will get plenty of spins around the country. Nice effort Karina.
well, 16 at war was reat because it was heartfelt and shed light on a part of life that everyone goes through and no one outside seems to understand- like lifting up a rock that you've seen everyday for years and finally seeing all the worms under it (strange simile, i know). she comes off as very mature woithout an im grown-esque song.
Karina is an extremely talented young woman and this song provides proof of her mature voice and wonderful vocal tone. Ryan Leslie killed the production-- as he always does-- and hopefully this will sky rocket the younger singer to true mainstream stardom.
This song is better than "16 at war" ... as a matter of fact, even "baby baby" was better. This is by far more superior than the last two tracks featured on the booth. This is a solid R&B track. This track is ORGANIC!
ya kinda similar to Alicia Keys' No One. It's not really similar, just you think of it... not good for Karina in my opinion, because now I'd rather listen to Alicia. tough break :-/
I guess......... i agree wit chu Z she does sound so much more mature with that amazing voice of hers but this production and her stlyle just isnt mixing on this track and that 16 at war song didnt stand a chance where im at... but i guess ill throw it in rotation for 1 night
ehhh.
I dunno, i just really feel like she can do better than this. I cant remember the name... but she has this other song that is an absolute hit. I dont know why she comes out with that one instead... Cuz what she has been coming out with is so beneath her. She could be so much bigger than she already is I think.
