Kardinal Offishall - Number 1 (Remix) ft. Busta Rhymes & Barrington Levy
Artist: Kardinal Offishall
Featuring: Busta Rhymes , Barrington Levy
Producer: JD Dready
Album: Not 4 Sale
Label: Black Stone Colleagues/GFMGG
Three weeks ago, DJBooth featured the first of two remixes to Kardinal Offishall’s current Keri Hilson-assisted single, Numba 1 (Tide Is High), boasting Dutty Sout influenced rhymes from David Banner and Alfamega. As promised, the second remix has arrived, and it includes guest contributions from Busta Rhymes and the recently-featured Barrington Levy (see No War). Over slightly tweaked production from UK producer JD Dready, Kardinal spits a completely brand new opening verse, while Levy and Rhymes both put in performances close to their vests. So, what’s next for the Toronto emcee? In late January, Kardi will release the T-Pain-assisted Go Home With You as Not 4 Sale’s third official radio single.

This remix is ok...I like the Dutty Sout version better though. The people on that one were better at spittin' their verses. Busta keeps on letting me down. I want him to make a huge comeback instead of all this crap he's been doing lately. Barrington was sure hot though and Kardinal was alright. OK.

Not feelin the hook by BL on this one but Kardinal is kickin some ass on everything he steps on these days. Busta the same. However this didn't come together for me like it should have. Luda would have been a nice addition for this one.

This is Decent right here. The beat is catchy in an early 90's reggae type of way. Kardinal does his thing on here with a nice fast flow. BUSTA KILLS this better than them all! He actually makes the song so much better! This can go into rotation!

This is slightly better then OK... but i wouldn't quite put it in rotation as i prefer the original and thats enough for me. Busta hits a fire verse, that makes this worth a listen.

I like this remix more than that with Alfamega and David Banner. The production remains the same (and really cool of course) but the verses are way less boring than the previous ones and the hook has been enriched. Banger!

Good song. Does anyone else think Kardinal looks a bit like Dave Chappelle in the picture we have up for him? haha

this has a sneaky peak hour feel to it.. bet it bumps on a bunch of 15 inch subs in the club, i can see bringing this in and out for about 2 mins.
the energy seems to die out after that long though |
