Attention, hip-hop nation: the official remix of Kanye West‘s latest smash, Power, has finally landed. True to form, the game’s foremost rapper-producer pulls out all the stops here, delivering a joint considerably bigger than your “average remix.” Swizz Beatz joins Symbolyc One behind the boards this go-round, supplementing the original‘s King Crimson-cribbing groove with some rather unexpected twists and turns – including a grand finale inspired by Snap!‘s I’ve Got the Power. West broadens his lyrical focus to take on a few political issues of the day, even supporting tolerance and diversity by spitting a few lines “in Islam. That’s right, “in Islam.” The one and only J-Hova goes equally hard on the opener, waxing philosophical about the ups and downs we all face (“Life is a trip so sometimes we gon’ stumble) and shouting-out… Norman Mailer? Now, of course, comes the moment of truth: does this version of the cut surpass the original? The power, as Captain Planet would say, is yours. Whichever you prefer, keep it locked for the latest on Kanye’s fifth LP, possibly titled Dark Twisted Fantasy and set to drop sometime in November.

Not feeling the remix... I think the original had a harder impact first time you heard it. Also Yeezy's verses have changed dramatically from the hard hitting real talk we first heard. Gets 2 stars for sampling SNAP!

I wish the last 2 minutes of this remix is what the entire thing sounded like. Kanye beasted Jay on the remix, which some thought would not happen, but the man is clearly out to prove his worth in my music to the masses.

If an elephant in full chainmail sat on you on Jupiter, it would not be as heavy as this!

With Jay-Z setting it off nicely for lil brother to spazz out, what follows is Kanye spitting hard-as-nails rhymes, sounding more confident in his delivery as each line of every stanza is pregnant with deft verbiage, and even more intense by including varied intonations and topics in his lyrics than Original joint, if that’s possible.

Now the few elements are loosely tied (John Legend's vocals) and Swizz's ad-libs has a tendency to get grating very quickly, nevertheless the shear power of Kanye West will have you eagerly listening to every word, something like watching a non-dubbed foreign movie. The action is just too INTENSE, and you just know how good this piece is, so while you know the experience could've been better, you are still glued to the screen (in this case loudspeaker), incapable of putting it to the side.

Just when you though this song couldn't get any better Kanye delivers. I have to admit though I prefer the original and did not like Swizz Beatz' part at the end. However Kanye is lyrically at his best in his second verse.

Swizz Beatz does a good job with his supplements to the production, although I did not like what he did at the end of the song. Lyrically, Jay and Kanye both bring the heat on the track. It's a banger no doubt, even better if the production stayed the same through the end!

I'm breaking out the full monty for this one. The breakdown from the original S1 production into Swizz' (actually DIFFERENT) sounding "I Got the Power" interpolation makes me want to get up and dance like I'm at an old school house party.

This might be Yeezy's most focused verse in quite sometime, even more straight forward and angry than the original. It's almost as if Jay turned into Gasol for this one and gave Yeezy his Kobe status, at least for now.

And this may be something that makes people faint - but Swizz Beats gave Yeezy something to make Power better. Yes, Swizz.

Wow, so we go a real remix in our hands. New beat and new rhymes, for better and worst. The better is we got a dope Jay-Z verse, intresting Taylor Swift line, and Kayne stepped up his skills from the orginial.

But the beat's already dope, so was Swizz really needed then? Kanye's 2nd verse was great but was almost ruined by the horrible production. I still think the original is better.

Classic. Not your cookie-cutter remix. The beat got chopped up like crazy... A classic. Kanye should not be overlooked after the taylor swift incident. he is still a genius. Hov went hard, and Swizz... well he killed the beat. 5 stars

It's simply impossible to do it better than Mr. West! It's not just genius... it's hard work and passion here!

All the modifications on the beat and vocals worked for the better and the song ended up fittingly powerful.
The "I’ve Got the Power" moment was unreal...

Grammys already reserved.

I really cant choose between the remix and the original. The remix is a really good remix compared to most these days (the beat was changed up and jay-z hopped on it). The original was more powerful tho and this is a remix which i believed completed its mission.

@JayCL- It changed.

This song is an instant classic from the moment I hit the Play. It's so epic.

Kanye's second verse had me really listening, but he went bonkers on the second one and exploded into the ether when Swizz came in with the edited beat, which he also killed.

Hopefully this song removes those dreadful memories of Kanye's piss poor auto-tune singing he did 2 years ago.

This remix is straight up DOPE!!!!! Hov is still a great rapper at a Brett Favre age and 'Ye ran away with this beat.

Great verse from Jay. Kanye kills it again. Beat had a great mix at the end by Swizz (But i wish that last part was just extended another minute or two and made into its own song on its own)....damn i kinda expected better from these 3 greats remixing an already great song.
