If you pop open that twice-used, dusty dictionary and look up the word “amazing,” you’ll read that it is defined as “inspiring awe, admiration or wonder.” Interestingly enough, these words, among many others, will undoubtedly be used to describe the latest musical voyage of Kanye West. Instead of continuing on the career path of the traditional rapper, West has ventured in a completely different sonic direction. Indeed, it is a path that inspires awe, and one that will leave many listeners wondering, “What is he doing?!” Regardless of this potential rift in perception, however, West is steadfast in his approach as an international pop star, not just an emcee. Only my boy Z would release a HOT KANYE TRACK LIKE THIS! I like this one better than the other two singles so far! Now I am pretty suped to hear the album actually...This is very creative and the beat is crisp and on-point. I am not a big Jeezy fan, but on here he gives a good contrast to Kanye on the voice box. I love the break in the beat before Jeezy comes on. This is definitely another CERTIFIED DJ BLAZE BANGER!!!

Hot song. I'm still going to download Kanye and buy Luda tho. Kanye's always been one of my favorites but Luda's been coming out with nothing but fire lately. (For those of you who aren't aware both albums come out on the same day) I have a feeling Kanye is going to sell more because...he's Kanye... but, with all due respect, Luda deserves it more than he does; he's been putting out nothing but fire for 8 years now and has yet to get the respect he deserves. Anyone have any thoughts on whose going to sell more?

..o and this is very stupid of me to say but i feel asleep with my ipod on..and when this track came on and the jungle noise started screaming right before jeezy moves in for the kill..it scared the crap out of me...he sampled similar african tribal noises in love lockdown too. they always get me off guard.

Kanye is on some hard shit right now!! People hatin saying he sucks now but of course his music gonna change when he been through hardships recently and his music gonna reflect this. The 808 drums and the beat throughout his songs on the album is fresh!! Kanye already proved he is a great mc and he is just switchin the style up. So versatile..who cares that a lot of his songs aint considered hip hop no more cuz he changing the whole game right now. Sick song right here wit Yeezy and Jeezy killed it. This could be my fav song of the whole album. No cars, hoes, clothes none of that shit on this one. Yall can keep hatin but Kanye is gonna sell big on this album and he is a genius no matter what you think. Who would be creative enough to make a album with just 808 tribal beats up on it and who would have the balls to do it and receive all the criticism. Keep up the good work!! This is classic!!

noooo...kanye. my thing with kanye is...i like some of his beats and his lyrics..but he just can't sing...n the it's not distorted enough for me to really like it..i'm sorry it's just hard for me to tolerate his voice...i dunno it just is, it's gonna take me time, but i'll get there, but rite now his voice is just not good for me. not hatin' cus i like kanye...n i like his new style, his voice just ruins it for me...

The production on this gets another notch in Kanye's "wow" factor, as he is killin it on the boards lately! Jeezy does his thing on here too, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ALBUM! I heard this yesterday. I had to say that the beat went off! The song was really tyte! I personally really wished that Kanye didn't put so much distortion on the vocals and let them be a little more cleaner. I hope he hears this feedback from many and he'll hit the studio again and redo them smoother and cleaner. I feel if he did that, it would be a 5 star classic...INSTANT! I heard the other leaks as well. I'd have to say my favorite tracks are "Heartless" & "Paranoid" and "Street Lights". I can't wait to get it! It's going to be ill getting a CD on MONDAY!

I've had the privilege to listen to the entire album as of last night except for the first song 'say you will' and the apparent secret last song thats supposidly acapella but the rest is exactly how kanye says it... AMAZING! i dont care what anyone says about this album it's going to be unreal! His lyrics are so simple yet so complex. As well Z the album has 4 guest features including this one and of course one with wayne and the other 2 are with his label signee Kid Cudi.

This song bangs without question, but f that ya'll gotta hear all the other tracks I've heard from this album. "Coldest Winter"," Tell everybody THAT you know". (classic track without question) Street lights which is a really powerful song if you ask me, Paranoid which is a 80's song all the way. @*#$! what everybody says!! This album will be classic! BDF said it! This one sounds like a old negro spiritual by the way.

I've heard the whole album now and it's ridiculous 'Anyway' is definatly the best track on the cd it has such a retro beat and 'welcome to heartbreak' is a close second. This album is going to be CLASSIC! kid cudi rips it as well in both of his songs im looking forward to seeing more g.o.o.d. music from him!

I really like beat and Jeezy's contribution. Noticed Ye has been doing the T-Pain thing and I figured it would show up again. I kinda like it, but I feel its getting a little played out since T doesn't really use it as much as everybody else. Beat is sick, I like the production.

First of all...let me say I'm the biggest Kanye fan on this website. LOL. I didn't listen to ALL the leaks yet, but I have to say Paranoid is my favorite one (formerly known as "Any Way") feat. Kid Cudi. It does have that retro beat. It's real funny because this past summer, I became an 80s Pop and Party music junkie...with Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time" being the spearhead. It's funny that Kanye and I were thinking the same...especially with what he did on Paranoid. Heartless, Paranoid & STRRET LIGHTS (I agree BDF44...it's a powerful record) are my favorites. I still agree "Amazing" is still "Amazing", but it just could have had less distortion on Kanye's vocals. It would have made it even better. Oh, and please...let's get one thing straight here: KANYE WEST IS NOT DOING THE "T-PAIN THING" ON THIS ALBUM! T-Pain makes R&B/Hip Hop with the auto tune, on completely different settings and a different style. Between all the songs I've heard from this album fr om Ye sound like minimalist music, pop rock, soft rock, borderline emo and pop. He's beyond hip hop right now and people need to expand their minds. This is POP ART! Ye coined the new genre term!

I just want to mention how crazy I think it is about all these new Kanye West tracks being leaked everywhere. Personally, the only tracks off the new album that I have heard is “Love Lockdown” and "Heartless". What happened to listening to an album as a whole? Why ruin the experience by “previewing” unmastered/unfinished tracks. I understand that our society is in a “gotta have it, gotta have it now, and when I’m done I want more” era, but where do we draw the line?

dj-dp, you aren't making any sense. You said something about Jeezy staying true to himself...but Kanye not? How to you know what keeping true to someone's self is. I see Kanye doing that right now. This whole album, from the time he dropped "Love Lockdown" he stated "I'm just following my heart on this one", not even worried about what the critics or people say...unlike the past where he's been semi-concerned with the opinion of critics and awards and things like that. If that's not staying true to himself...IDK what is. So obviously you should redefine for yourself what "staying true" means.

michaelhannah: who cares? I think HALOSER cares. That's all that's important to him when it comes to if he's going to listen to the music. It is actually about what the listener likes only in regards to him listening to this kind of music and liking it. If he doesn't like it, he can say it. (Wouldn't say I agree with him though)
When it comes to Kanye making the music for himself, it's appropriate to say it's not about what the public thinks. But the fact that someone doesn't dig the autotune is their preference, and it is about what they like personally to them. |

This is a GREAT song! I heard the (rather poor quality) leak of 808, and I'm pratically ready to through the classic title on this one, and that's with the only real classics I think in my DJBooth list being "Konvicted" and "Untitled". The rest are just 4.5s. I'm getting sick and tired of the "Kanye's sold out", "Kanye's falling off". "Kanye be put-n music out for us fans not for himself." Think about that statement after reading Kanye's own description of the album. I'll leave my ranting off until the 808 review gets up before the release date, anyways. I'll def be getting this album.

The Production in this is astonishing when i first listened to it it kept in my head the entire day and I had to listen to it over and over again. Does anyone else find the piano familiar? I feel like i've heard it in another really old song but just can't put my finger to it.Oh well the chorus is cool although the distortion kind of ruins the feel for the track and Jeezy's verse fit real good in the I liked how it gave a fake bow before his turn it was like a new beginning so it felt like they both started out the song.

michaelhannah its obvious what your saying, but the thing is we are consumers and we are spending our money on this artist's product. So if they want to maximize sales they should attend to other than their fanbase. Basically what im saying they should make music for everyone.

Without question Jemaineatl. I think this entire concept of singing and the tribal drums, the 808 sound all somewhat expresses the emotion that Ye is going through. I have always found Kanye somewhat depressed or taken by emotion even before his mother passed. If you bought that Late Registration LP around the time it was released then you received a poster that came with it. One side has the cover of the album with the bear in the classroom and on the other side of it is a picture of Ye in front of what looks like the outside of a college campus somewhere. My mom and I had a long conversation about that pic because kanye comes of as extremely unhappy on that picture. He looks almost as if he is at war with himself to me. At this point I just hope kanye has a good surrounding of supportive individuals around him. He is a genius with an incredible sense of depth that is expressed through his music and I wanna continue to see him grow in this industry, not implode like so many other's who came before him. Stay Up Kanye West!!!

This track has a lot of great things about it. It has a smooth and seductive music background. While it also has the ingenius lyrics by Kanye. I love the direction Kanye has been going through its kind of a Lil Wayne with smooth vocals like Marvin Gaye. I love how he has been more lyrically diverse. He also have been trying this whole new type of sound. Its great. His album 808's & Heartbreak will deffinitly hit the Platnium status. This is a great trck I love the Jeezy Assist Although I do think they should have smoothed out his rough voice. That was my only concern about it was that Jeezy's rough voice is kind of to rough. But even with that little bit of dislike it's still great enough of a song to be given the Classic stature.

i am so dissapointed in what kanye is doing. Im liking his beats still, but this singing is getting so old. I agree with Haloser, this autotune is so over, is his whole damn album gonna be this crap?? the hook so sub par too, sorry kanye u gotta start picking it up big time

Best song on 808's & Heartbreakes that ive heard so far, been a big fan of the three releases, still dunno about this auto-tone thing, im of the opinion that T-Pain should be the only one to use it since he was the one that brought it into pop culture/hip hop. Production on this is brilliant, Kanye has been fantastic behind the boards on this album.
I dont think Kanye really cares what the haters have to say about him on this album, his goal is to make the perfect album in his eyes and a album that he can fully appreciate and at this time, he wants the more depressing, but still thought provoking music due to the loss of his mother. |

Y’all need to get your facts right: the ENTIRE ALBUM is SUNG with AUTOTUNE! It’s not worth whining about its presence on every song; what you can do is tell how good/bad it sounds, but it will be there! For your surprise, it may sound good, just wait till you hear “Streetlights”.
Here it sounds ok (too much distortion as y’all already pointed), but what stands out is the creativeness on the production side, the tribal/nature sounds are exquisite and only noticeable if you take this Kanye effort as art, pop art as he coins, not for the distracted. Unfortunately, I still feel his vocals lack the ear for melody you’d get from an actual singer. The heart broken mood can’t be an excuse for that… @ Whoever complains about the distorted voice: “the occasional exaggerated effects produced by Auto-Tune are meant to represent the effect of being heartbroken.” That’s official! But I don’t like it either, I prefer his pure singing voice on “Hey Mamma Grammy mix” |

So Kanye has really changed genre...that's admirable, an A artist should always explore new fields. But I'm not sure yet if I like the new Kanye West. I'm feelin his new productions, music has such a good atmosphere, it's not plain and generic, it's full of sounds (dunno how to explain sorry) but he has become kinda annoying. I don't like it that he uses the autotune and in general the melody is boring, after a while it gets too repetitive. I'm sure that if I listen to this 4,5 times it'll grow on me more and more but for now my impression is that the music is super, a classic, but he deserves not more than 3 stars. Average 3,5

This is a very sexy track! I really hope that this album doesnt break Kanye hes taking a huge risk singing it all in auto tune. Kanyes a genius though. Even tho hes a cocky mofo I still love him as an artist.
