This week’s G.O.O.D Friday release has some history. If you’ve been following the Kanye West Promo Tour of Egocentricity then you’ll remember these verses being spit at the offices of Facebook and Twitter. Much like the giant Horus medallion he’s been sporting, West’s Chain Heavy is quite literally (lyrically) heavy. With Q-Tip the Abstract behind the boards crafting an elegant piano looped wrapped around some lengthy theremin work, Yeezy and his OG collaborators Consequence and Talib Kweli go for herringbones, Cuban links and the sort. The aforementioned Ye verses come with typical grandiose and bravado: “This is the making of a masterpiece / So we broke out the chains and told the Master peace!” Taking it back to the College Dropout-era, both Kweli and Consequence deliver stunning verses ripe with metaphors and punchlines including Kweli taking aim at rappers who aren’t as intelligent and close to the people as him (a.k.a. everyone). Cons is just as hungry, almost letting the phrase chain slip into every single bar from chain snatching to chain restaurants. Make sure your chain’s not tucked in when you cop My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy on November 22, with this doubling as an iTunes bonus cut.

The fact that this record is only an iTunes bonus track on the new album speaks to the level of quality the new album represents. Love it.

Love this track. And to anyone who says Kanye should of never been on this"cough cough PenguinWithAGuitar" your wrong. Because kanye makes the song with the best verses. i mean come on "This is the flow that solar eclipses,So hopefully one day that real soul will eclipse the bullshit, they got us listenin’ to,
In this existence Don’t give up now just a little more persistence," thats hip hop gold

Ah brings me back to 2004 (actually 2008 is when I heard "The College Dropout", but that's besides the point) when Kanye was just starting out with these guys. If GLC was on this, it would have been the perfect throwback. I have heard better boards from Q. Like last weeks, I believe this ones emphasis was more on a lyrical track. Otherwise, a great track!!

The production was annoying. Talib Kweli killed this, but Kanye and Consequence were far from weak.

Dope as hell record, with all four artists bringing their A-game, but... Kanye takes the cake, goddamn he went in.

"This is the flow that solar eclipses/So hopefully one day that real soul will eclipse the bullshit."

While I haven't downloaded the leak, looking at the tracklist and from what others who have downloaded it have told me, one thing this album might be missing is just more Kanye verses.

First listen, I didn't like a single thing about this song. Second listen, I'm still very disappointed. The beat is irritating. Kanye has a couple good lines dispersed through ok verses. I just wasn't feeling Kweli like I usually do, and Cons was off beat more than a couple times.

Third listen... still not feelin it.

This is my favorite good friday song. Everything feels and sounds right on this one. All of the verses were solid, especially the one from Talib, who showed that he still has it in a big way. Could Kanye sign Kweli next for a Good music Blackstar reunion, i can only pray...4.5 stars

Nothing memorable on this track for me. All I hear I remember is the hook.

Q-Tip is a slept on producer. This is one of the best tracks I've heard from the Good Friday series. That beat is haunting, in a good way.

On a purely lyrical level, perhaps the best we've heard out of the entire series.

And I know Ye has two verses so things are weighted in his favor, but on a bar for bar level, my vote for best verse is with Kweli. One of the best performances I've heard from him in a minute.

Im really feeling this. Kanye's opening verse is hard with a nice flow. The repitition is very catchy. The beat, with that noise is very annoying. Consequence had a great verse. Kanye West is a genius. nuff said.......

I don’t think song is amazing because I couldn’t get into the beat, it sounded better acapella.
