Representing the East Ham section of London, British grime MC Kano is one of the newest (among a growing number of urban artists) to emerge from “across the pond.” The new single, This Is The Girl, has Kano reminiscing about a certain woman he believes is the right one. Kano sounds rather scatterbrained in his verses, which is a natural reaction when you’re in love. Duly accompanied by Southampshire R&B singer Craig David (whose synthesized vocals make him sound like the UK version of T-Pain), This Is The Girl has all the tools necessary to be a hit in Britain. The real question remains though: Can Kano become a crossover smash in America?
ya’ll don’t even know nuffin about the english music game, Kano is a legend over seas, just listen to P’s and Q’s and all of his other amazin hits, and as for Craig David being the next T-Pain? erm, Craig’s been huge since 99 and he is the best R&B;singer around. These two together is a smash hit before even being heard. Always reppin the english music, this song is mint mate!
Hey “londons finest” --- MBurmy said nothing about Craig being the ‘next’ T-Pain, but simply his vocals (in this song only) are similar to what T-Pain has been doing here the past 6 months or so. Please bring other English rappers to the attention of the DJBooth staff, we’d appreciate it.
winner of using the robot t-pain in every song he is in. Winner of using an english in america .............................. Lil wanye in we takin over.
no offence to kano this isnt an america hit
kano’s aight i suppose, but for uk hip-hop to be more known, u need to listen to klashnekoff, kyza, scorcher, plan b, shameless ect.
anyways, big up to kano, he doin his thing
DJ Z - Asher D with songs like ‘andrea’ and ‘this is real’. Big Narstie with the song ‘spun a web’. Crazy Titch is a legend. his song ‘so crazy’ is lush. i saw that you guys noticed dizzee rascal already, he is huge. Kano has too many quality records to even put down. Lethal Bizzle, you may know him from that song with twista ‘what we do’. MC Vapour is good, Lady Shystie, and Tinnie Tempah probably had the best tune from the UK, the song ‘wifey’ the beat is amazing. but all the songs iv mentioned are about a year old. still classics though…
listen up; Craig david has been a worldwide hit for years; (wayyy bigger than t-pain). And I think Kano has a really unique and slick flow; he has potential; he puts a good name for the UK; they both do! even though the track is mediocre if not a little more than that.
I’m done with trying to argue and prove the point, i guess americans just dont appreciate our music. he is not off the beat, he perfectly flows with it, and the accent is strong because he is a londoner, just like paul wall is a southerner with his accent, damn people are super ignorant these days.
chamillionaire and bun b are southerners and they don’t have strong accents. nothing ignorant about that. your ass just mad because his s*** isn’t appreciated. canibus is canadian and respected highly. kano isn’t. get over it. accent too strong!
aha rico, your the type of guy who probably loves pimp c, one of the worst rappers to ever come out. and there are plenty of Londoners who dont have a thick accent like him, just like you proved there are southern rappers who dont have a thick accent like paul wall. the difference is, i like American music so i don’t mind paul wall, especially in how the hustlers do it. and yea your right i am mad that it aint appreciated, but then again this isn’t kano’s best tune, by farrr. so its whatever really, just wish people would listen to his freestyles and other classic tunes, then they would realize.
All im saying is to you Americans...Listen to Kano - P’s and Q’s and Kano feat Klashnekoff - Sometimes. Personally I think he’s much better lyrically than most modern American rappers.
i like it!! damn where craig been at?! wow i ant kno yall was doin it like dat ova dere n london...interestin!! oh and rico sean, his accent is sexy!!!
this song is soft, I’m sorry its the kind of song that will play in a Gino or a white club, only. I like Craig david but this song isn’t gonna go to far its a little lame, they need to give more of a hard beat if they wanted it to fly in a more hip hop style, this stuff is to dance musicish if you feel me?
Yh this songs OK but listen to “Mic Check” or “P’s & Q’s” or “Flita D diss”. Kano could easily destroy most US rappers which aint ma point. Truth is that we don’t have any big UK urban acts in the US whereas US rappers are always on our channels so I’m tired of this $h**! Anyway im not startin beef but listen to UK MCs such as Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, Kano, JME & Skepta. Trust me you’ll love em. Or u won’t cos u dont understand our vocab and its too fast for you Americans (no offense).
