If you ever find yourself confessing your love to a guy or girl who happens to be an R&B singer, choose your words carefully, because they might end up in a song. And wear a hidden mic – if the record becomes a hit, you’ll want proof of authorship in order to claim your rightful share of the royalties. Cha-ching! Uh, anyways, Kandi‘s latest single and first Booth feature, I Want You was inspired by just such an experience (as she describes in this video). Backed by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E League‘s gentle, mid-tempo synth boardwork, the Xscape alum and veteran songwriter (she was among those responsible for TLC’s hit single, No Scrubs) steps into the shoes of that special man to profess her love to… herself. That may sound a little convoluted in concept, but in execution, it could hardly be more straightforward and heartfelt. The artist’s smooth, sincere vocals add to the effect – if you’ve been longing to pour your heart out to that special someone but couldn’t find the words, this just may be your jam. Kandi Kandi Kandi. I've been following her career for years - the part that didn't include the stint on a reality TV show about her being a housewife - and I've always felt like she was on the cusp of something... but she could never fulfill it. I am not sure this upcoming album release, amongst a sea of heavy hitter releases in Dec, will make that impact, but I enjoy her current sound.
Shouts to the guys of JLeague.

not feeling it ..and the justice league are a bunch of tools ...espcially rook ... the drunk colien ... kenny is cool as @*#$! tho ... kandi got mad talent ...she need to see B.cox ... Rnb aint JL's specialty ... they dont sound at home making joints like this .... i think kandi album will end up being a dope project this year tho .. and shes got the push from the housewife show ... it'll do numbers

I really like the feel of this song. The flow just makes it an enjoyable listen. Im definetly feeling this from Kandi.
The production is pretty simple and boring from the J League. This is a overal good peice of work. In rotation for me. Good luck on the upcoming album, Kandi. |

My first reaction was, "Oh yeah, that's the chick from the show my wife watches all the time," and my second reaction was, "damn, she can really sing."
I have to agree that the production and overall vibe is pretty formulaic, but as Kandi continues to find her own voice I'm definitely down to hear more.

Yeah she definently can sing and I thought it was a nice track for the Justice League even though I prefer they continue to make hip-hop bangers.

Great song..you can definitely feel her pouring her heart out on the track! I love Kandi's voice and I think she's very talented, however, i don't think her voice is "poppy" enough to gain mainstream success..
