Most rappers deal with their foes in one of two ways: either they lash out in anger, or ignore them entirely. KaliRaps takes a different route; on his latest single, he kneels down and asks the Lord to have mercy on them, “for they know not what they do.” It’s a nice gesture, even if the contempt the Golden State spitter exhibits throughout his verses slightly undercuts its sincerity. Alumni Music Group‘s Sean Brown guests on the front, while the headliner handles the back 16, likening the self-proclaimed ballers who oppose him to “a bunch of Lenny Cookes.” Track co-headliner Rookie Cartrite delivers the middle verse and serves up a moody, trap-tinged backdrop for the collaborators’ bars. Feeling it? Then be sure to cop Kali and Cartrite’s INDUCTED mixtape when it drops digitally April 8.
