34 weeks into his Manic Mondays series, K. Sparks is well on his way to achieving his stated goal of spitting about “every possible topic;” lately though, it seems like he’s also angling to put his lyrically-driven stamp on every hip-hop subgenre under the sun—with last week’s Bright Lights, he proved it possible to craft a club banger you can think and drink to, and on installment number 35, he gives all would-be hip-rockers a similar wakeup call, demonstrating that guitar-heavy beats and Hard-hitting lyricism are two great tastes that taste great together. Skrazey backs the emcee’s punchline-driven braggadocio with the brand of bluesy riff-rock that set the standard for swagger well before the word “swagger” became a hip-hop cliché, and the combination could hardly feel more natural. Wondering what Sparks has in store for next week? Well, stop wondering and start brainstorming, because he’s letting you decide. Send your suggestions to {encode=“incrowdbiz@aol.com” title=“incrowdbiz@aol.com”}; the most creative concept will become Manic Monday #36, and the record will come complete with a shout-out to the winning entrant.

First off, let me say I really enjoyed this weekend's debate. Thanks to all who took part, on both sides.
Now, before I rate this awesome song, I have a new question. We've talked about the best rappers in the game quite a bit. But how about the bad ones? So, here's the question: Who, in your opinion, is the WORST rapper in the game right now? My vote goes for Asher Roth, Flo Rida, and Soulja Boy. Now, this song, like so many others from Sparks, is amazing. Love the production and his flow is still fresh. Still a little worried if he can do this for 17 more weeks, but only time will tell. This is Banger. |

K. Sparks is a freakin' machine. It is ridiculous how he comes with straight fire week in and week out. I honestly don't remember ever rating one of his songs under a 4. This song had a tight production and he went HARD!

Richard said it best...Skrazey's rock beat and Sparks' strong lyrics are a PERFECT fit...enough to school a few other Booth favorites!
And BTW: I'm going to send my idea to K. Sparks right now (It's a secret right now, but you'll know next week-one way or another!) |

@bowwserr - Flo Rida is a stud, man. I know he kinda poppy but his club hits go hard. I don't really like to hate on anyone, but as far as who has least amount of talent, I would go with Soulja Boy.

What can I say? K Sparks kills everything he gets on. Banger once again.
@bowwserr I don't even think Asher Roth should be in the same category as a Flo Rida and Soulja Boy. Seriously, Asher is way better than those guys, why do you hate hime so much? Soulja boy gets the crown for being the worse. |

@ Bowwserr - your opinion is highly respected around here, but I don't know why we're having this debate in a K.Sparks forum? To answer the question though, do not sleep on Asher Roth. Check his album if you have not done so yet.

@GStan and @Pasina - The reason both of those artists are at the bottom for me (and I mean, ROCK BOTTOM) is becuse none of them have released a serious hip-hop track. You enjoy their music, I'm sure(although I get annoyed by ll 3's music/voices). But you don't FEEL the music, like you would if you were listening to Kanye or Chamillionaire or (yes, I'll say it) Eminem.
If I hear a serious track from one of them that is about a real topic, and I enjoy it, I will more than gladly eat my words. But until then, none of them are worth anything more than 1 star for me. |

@ bowwserr - I see what you are saying. My favorite type of rap is the serious rap with a message and all of the rappers you mentioned (with the addition of 2Pac ;)) are at the top of my list too. But, that being said, I can go out and enjoy myself to a Flo Rida record anytime. Asher actually has some talent too, but it is all party music. But its all cool, I respect your opinion.

@ bowwserr Just because someone hasn't released a serious hip hop track does that constitute them being at the rock bottom? Hip Hop is about expression. Some artist are serious while others are light hearted such as Asher. We can't say he's at the rock bottom because he doesn't make serious songs. At the end of the day he is being TRUE to himself. That's what Hip Hop is about right? Being true to ones self.

In-btw: As i still cant post twice on an already commented thread (Submit button doesn't show up the next time around ) im missin out on all the action/debates lately ... but just wanted to say u guys are f**kin awesome ... Being from a Nation (India) where Hip Hop existence is down to none i get to learn a lotta new stuff from these debates ... Keep it up yall ... & heres My Top 5 Rappers: 1. Ludacris (ur not alone on this anymore DJ Phantom) 2. Kanye West 3. Eminem 4. Lupe Fiasco 5. Weezy Two other artists that are going to make it into the list in the near future are XV & Novel... Honorable Mention - Tech N9ne (my newfound interest thanks to booth & DJ Phantom) ... @ Bowwserr - Now as much RESPECT i have for u in my heart i just cant resist myself sayin this - You are just being an A grade Hater for comparin Asher with Eminem & all this stuff by naming him in worsts along side S Beezy ... but i know it eventaully comes down to - "its ur opinion" ... but fam all i can say or should i say suggest is go back & take good listen to his Record again... @cb126405 - Thank you for your first comment. Who knew my opinion was actually valued? Lol. I posted this on K Sparks because I knew more people would go to this track than any other, and I really want to hear from more people than just the usuals, such as GStan, because I can already kinda tell what they will say. It deserves to be on Diddy's track though (complete crap). As for Roth, I'm not sleeping on him persay; I simply do not respect him yet. I hope to respect him in the future, however, because he has potential. Even I can see that.
@GStan - Party music is all good. One of my favorite tracks is the Arab Money remix. But the thing is, if you make a party track, it's gotta be one that gets you up off your feet right off the bat, and Neither Flo nor Roth have done that so far for me, in large part due to the production they're spittin behind is plain mediocre to me. They need better production!! @Pasina - Good point. Very good point. BUT!! The truth of the matter is, it's not the humorou tracks that you remember, it's the serious ones. Crack a Bottle, for instance, will be forgotten in no time, whereas Lose Yourself will be heard for a long time. But, you are correct when it comes to the rock bottom comment. I was using hyperbole to get people's attention. Roth is definitely higher up than Flo, who's definitely higher up than Soulja. But, they're all pretty low down in the rankings. |

Who Bowwserr...I respect your opinion...but fam....ASLEEP IN THE BREAD AISLE?! Have you heard the album? Asher is a beast!
But back to THIS song...K.Sparks snapped. Production was crisp and clean and it was a nice banging joint. Wackest rapper in the game? Hmmm....my vote would go to Shawty Lo. I actually like Soulja Boy's music. (For the most part) I could care less for Flo-Rida. |

Another solid track wit solid wordplay from K. Sparks. The production wit the guitar is sweet.
@Bowwserr- Now I would have to completely agree with the SouljaBoy decision. He speaks about nothing and has a horrible voice that doesnt sound good over any production. As far as FloRida, no he isnt a "hip-hop" artist. He is, however, and exelent "rapper." He can ride a beat wit a great flow, he just doesnt talk about anything too interesting. I would have to Completely disagree with Asher Roth. If you're going off of "I Love College", then go take a look at his album. He has some growing to do as an artist and rapper, but his wordplay is great and dude knows about hip-hop. Anyway, by bottom would be SouljaBoy, Gucci Mane, and Bow Wow (right now) |

@ bowwserr - This may be the most viewed song for the night, but it's taking the focus away from K.Sparks and his incredible track tonight. If you've been coming here for a while, you know that Sparks has shown too much love for us in the booth to have comments get cluttered up with off the topic debates. Good debate though, nonetheless.

godsson81885 - MH isn't lying fam, Soulja Boy is actually a lot better than people think in my opinion as well. He will never be a top lyricist, but I believe he has proven himself to be taken out of the worst rappers in the game category. If he was still in that category, I doubt "best rapper" artists like Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Jadakiss, Fabolous, and Kanye would work with/support him.

Godsson81885, this is the thing:
I've discussed this so many times on here. Every artist (for the most part) in hip hop has their place in hip hop. Example: I work with kids right now, elementary and younger students. When we are doing an assembly or something, and want them to get excited...we don't place Nas' ONE MIC. We play "Soulja Boy" or "UNK" Or "V.I.C". If you see how these kids faces light up and they get to spazz out with their simple dances and have fun...you'd understand. On the other side of that, Soulja Boy is just a fun artist in general. When did hip hop ALWAYS have to be so serious? I mean...when did that happen when the form of fun expression in hip hop was shunned. I remember having a meeting a few months ago with Hip Hop Professor (PH.D) Tricia Rose, author of two great hip hop novels (Google her) and she agreed with me that expression of any kind should be embraced. It's all music. As far as Asher Roth...I really think you guys haven't went and listened to his music forreal, forreal...cuz to say he's WACK is like really surprising to me. Let's remember...some of the most legendary hip hop artists in our minds from the beginning of the genre just made simple, fun music....so when did this become such a problem for hip hop fans? Think about it? (Sorry for the long post...lol) "Breaks on a bus brakes on a car Breaks to make you a superstar Breaks to win and breaks to lose But these here breaks will rock your shoes And these are the breaks Break it up break it up break it up!"-Kurtis Blow |

@that1kid13 - Ok, clearly I have given many a person the wrong impression, so I will clarify my opinion once and for all:
ASHER ROTH IS NOT TRASH!! I simply do not respect him enough. Apparently, I will have to give his album a second, closer listen. And I will be ok with liking him. I don't have a hidden grudge against the guy; simply how I see him as an artist. @godsson81885 - Thank you for the respect. It's nice to have earned it. After reading the thread, I must say that Michael Hannah has a great point. I'm sure the little kids really enjoy his stuff, and you can't very well have them listening to Eminem or Luda. He's still WAY at the bottom for me, because, well, I'm not a kid. But I do respect what Hannah says. As well as what you have said, godsson. It's nice to have people on your side of the debate! :) |

Each week K. Sparks reminds me why he's my favorite newcomer and deserved a cover of his own on XXL... no other impresses me as much (except maybe Bobby Ray, but he's quiet by now). By the way, who's your favorite newcomer?
Production is amazing (guitar!!!), is it sampling or 100% original material? It is so good, it could easily be used by Red Hot Chili Peppers (only the bass would be 10x better ;))! I'm excited about the opportunity to suggest the concept, is it gonna be like this from now on (Rich, Burmy, Z)? Oh, and Burmy, just wait and see my suggestion chosen over yours! :D haha PS: I really think it's distracting to have debates that don't have anything to do with the song on these threads, but... we know Z is working on that, right? (right Z?!) @bowwserr: I'm positive you mentioned not the worst rappers, but the bad ones (except Roth) who are exposed, you know what I mean? ;) There's no way there are worse rappers than SHAWTY LO and likes of GUCCI MANE. I don't like Soulja Boy, but we're choosing THE worst, and unfortunately, there are worse. |

@FredRico - I've already apologized for the off topic debate. It'd be nice if we had a blog though, so they would never be off topic. I take the responsibility for this one, have no doubts.
Now, I suppose you could say that compared to Shawty Lo, Asher is amazing. But I still don't like the guy. But, as I have been reccommended to buy his album, I will. Give me the time to listen to the whole thing once or twice, and I'll come back with my real judgement on the guy. But, this is Spark's thread. So, all I gotta say to you, FredRico, is no one will have the oppurtunity to hear Sparks rap about your suggestion, 'cause he's gonna choose mine!! :) Ha ha, well, whoever the winner may be, I'm sure Sparks will kill it. THat's how Sparks rolls. I gotta say, he's fightin' with Tech N9ne for my #5 favorite rapper, and right now, he's winning. Can't wait for next week1 luck to ll my fm who've sent (or will send) a suggestion. It'll be exciting to see who wins. Just wait though; you'll hesr the name bowwserr. Just wait and see. ;) |

Ok Bowwser, I can't speak on who the wackest is off top, but I have to say that Asher is not at all wack. I like his album and I think his flow is solid and will improve. I do a@ree with the other two artist you mentioned, but I must say Soulja boy's ability on the boards, his nact for what His market wants, as well as his ability to rock a room is nothin@ short of @enius. As far as this son@ @oes, its not my favorite beat that Sparks has flown over, but its cool. His flow is far from wack.
