Last week, we helped K. Sparks addicts stave off post-Manic Mondays withdrawal by featuring Blind Man, a track off the reader favorite’s forthcoming, Kevin Nottingham/2DopeBoyz/DJBooth.net-cosponsored mixtape, Super Seniors. Feel free to breathe another sigh of relief—today, our favorite Queens native’s Back in the Building (and in the Booth) to send fans off to work/school with a certified banger. On official leak #2, Sparks joins forces with frequent collaborator Julius Francis to make sure everyone in the house has their hands in the air. As beatsmith Claps gets heads bobbing with a mid-tempo mix of marching-band brass, piano, and—of course—plenty of handclaps, Sparks delivers two verses packed with his trademark heavily-alliterated braggadocio, notably name-dropping veteran duo Camp Lo. Tied together with Francis’ silken hook and backing vocals, ItB is another tantalizing glimpse of what’s in store on Super Seniors. Keep it locked to our frontpage—though the project has yet to receive a solid release date, Sparks promises that “... more leaks [are] on the way shortly.”

Man, that beat hits.... and hits... and hits again. Julius is real real cool on the R&B hook work and Sparks does his usual merk job.

I still think his best song is "Sunshine", but this is hella good. The song never gets boring, Sparks is mad nice with the words and I swear I'm obsessed with Julius Francis and his hooks. Ahhh I'm on the wagonnnnn!!!

This is nothin short of a banger. A bangin beat, wit some nice hand claps and brass, mixed wit Sparks' bangin wordplay. The production and lyrics are beautifully layered.

The beat on this track is the TRUTH! I don't see anything really excellent about K. Sparks flow on here. His flow rides the beat correctly, but I would bet other artists that aren't that good could do the same. Cool Chorus. Nothing I would play again though...

This pretty good. I usually give K. Sparks four stars or higher, but this is aight.
@Haze Group - I LOVED Temperature! That song was much better than this one to me. However, K. Sparks and Julius Francis together usually equals a hot track. |

Sparks did a great job, although I could here this for Jay-Z album. If Claps would have shopped this track with Julius Francis smooth classy vocals on the hook...this could be on the Billboard charts EASY!!

One of my favorite songs from sparks and super senior is still in rotation heavy!
@BDF44 I agree with you 100% @$PrinceCharming$ So your saying that this song can't be on the Billboard charts because K Sparks is on it as opposed to Jay Z? In that case we might as well say K Sparks would be on the charts if he got a singer with a bigger buzz like Trey Songz or Chris Brown to do the hook...so your point again? |

@ Devin Sage, I'm not saying that this song could not be huge still. I'm just saying that if K. Sparks and Julius Francis both had major labels backing them, they would be killin it in the industry with the amount of Great quality Classic music they put out! I wouldn't suprised if I heard this on the radio in 2010.
Sorry forgot to rate. These two can definetly compete with all the trash thats on the radio today...its a matter of time! |
