If I were feeling ambitious (and even longer-winded than usual), I could try and map out the process through which Queens emcee K. Sparks evolved from talented up-and-comer into an all-around rap juggernaut by experimenting with subject matter, subgenre, flow, and even vocal impressions over the course of his Manic Mondays series.  Now that we’ve reached #47 of 52, I think it’s fair to say we’ve entered into the final stretch—in any case, Abstract Jazz sounds like something of a “transition record.” Originally scheduled to run as entry #46 (before being switched out at the last minute for Identity Crisis), this cut finds Sparks revisiting the mellow, jazzy sound that’s become one of his (many) trademark styles.  Bobby Bob‘s piano-loop instrumental (complete with scratches and a switched-up outro not present in the original) evokes a fittingly mellow ambiance as the emcee gets his “abstract emcee” on, hopping between laid-back braggadocio and more sinister lyrical imagery with greatest of ease.  Does Abstract Jazz set the tone for the final five entries in Sparks’ series, or is it a head-bobbing detour on the road to uncharted territory?  I have no idea, but I do know it’s going to be one dope ride.

I've always taken a real liking to Sparks word over Jazzy boardwork. Obviously, title and all, this is no exception. Only 5 left...

K. Sparks has flowed over a lot of Jazzy beats through the course of this series... and killed them all. This is no exception. My usual rating for a Sparks track.

So it's Official K.Sparks sonds best over such Jazz-ish productions ....
Different basses and jazzy keyboard sequences floating above it all make you feel like you're in
a smoked-out jazz club and I’m always down for DJ scratches. FULL STARS.

This is that type of track that you ride to on a summer night windows down. Reminds of some old school A Tribe Called Quest cuts. Mellow music yet the verses are spit fire and smart... that's a perfect combination

Keys in the background make this track flow nicely. Sparks, as always, delivers some nice bars.

5 songs left, all his songs were 4s or 5s. His flow sounds nice over jazz production.

i agree with Z (check the rhymes?? lol). i think some of K. Sparks best flows have been over jazzy beats. this beat sounds like a blend between the beat of Nostalgic and Purpose. check it out and let me know what ya'll think
