Big-name singers beware; K-Young, the rising R&B star who brought us Summer Love (Remix) back in July ‘09, is hard at work on a mixtape that he’s confident will be Better Than Your Album. How does the West Coast up-and-comer plan on toppling the titans? Judging by inaugural leak If You Only Knew, his strategy is all about catchy hooks, body-moving grooves and the occasional well-placed guest feature. Here, emcee/producer David Banner serves up a scorching brass/bass-driven beat (complete with dizzying electronic accents) as Young pays tribute to a female clubgoer with a “...billion dollar body” and some jaw-dropping dance moves to boot. On the back end, Banner steps out from behind the boards to offer a second opinion on the shawty in question, concurring with the headliner: “She’s flyer than a motherf*cker.” Better Than Your Album (Vol. 1)‘s release date has yet to be announced – keep it locked to the Booth for all the latest!

Real smooth vocals over a highly-enjoyable beat from Banner (who is a very very underrated producer). After months of supporting this man, its good to see some other outlets finally jump on his bandwagon and support.
With an album title this cocky, I have high expectations for this new mixtape...

This one grew on me as the song progressed. Started off slow but I really started liking the hook and the whole vibe of the song once it got rolling. K. Young has got talent no question. Excited to see what he has in store for the upcoming year.

Wow!!! This song is maaad old! heard it about a year ago and was gettin good feedback when i played it too. i couldn't believe david banner gave the same beat to young money to have them f#ck it up but i am now relieved to see this come back out

Decent song, I could take it or leave it, but...
Young's vocal melody on the hook are almost a direct copy of a Dream song, something off Love vs. Money. It's on the tip of my tongue but I can't place it. Anyone else know?

Yuup! @Nathan is on-point. This track bears a very striking likeness to joints on "Love Vs Money".
Anyway you put it, song is pretty formulaic, in both its content and delivery. Okay at very best. |

First it's a David Banner beat so you know it knocks, but the vocals bounce over the track real nice. You can definitely throw it on in the ride or at a party get a good response.
