The 142nd entry in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of K-Beta, the DMV native who recently earned reader acclaim for Black Business and Come Closer. On his brand new, exclusive Paperbag Writer freestyle, the Inner Loop Records rapper flows over a Nigel Godrich-produced beat originally featured on Radiohead’s track of the same name. K-Beta is currently preparing for the April 1, release of his latest full-length, Inglorious Beta.

K-Beta's my personal favorite of the artists the Booth's put on. He finds the best beats, and then matches them perfectly. This beat like a tribute to Jay-Z's Vol 2 and 3. I can't put my finger on exactly which song.

When I first heard that K decided to rap over an old Radiohead joint I laughed. Why? Well, how many of your favorite rappers would think to do their DJBooth Freestyle over a Radiohead joint. That's right, the answer is none.
Creative and fun rolled into one, Paperbag Writer is a stand out cut from our ongoing series. Shouts to everyone at ILR, including Overok, $crilla and Langston.

I think we can safely call this the most experimental freestyle in our series, and Beta definitely pulls it off. Makes me want to hear more rappers go in over Radiohead beats. I'm still not quite sure how this track is "like a panda", but Beta's flow is so tight I barely even care about the meaning.
Five stars under my time-tested "anyone who uses my name in a freestyle gets five stars" rule. Biased? F**k yes. Do I care? F**k no. 5 stars it is!!!

If i remember correctly, kanye, lupe, and pharrelle sampled Thom Yorke's(of radiohead) "The Eraser" on their song "US Placers". That was also amazing, so yes, more radiohead samples, but i also hope that some artists try creating songs like that of their own.

Thanks everybody. Nathan, the track isn't like a panda at all. The "weak spine" that gets "snapped and chewed" is likened to a bamboo stick in the hands of a panda.
