Like the Madden curse, the “most underrated rapper” tag has been known to cripple the careers of up-and-coming emcees, so I’m going to avoid burdening K-Beta with the weighty label. Instead, let’s just say that if you’re sleeping on the DMV rapper, you really need to wake up. Just in case you weren’t convinced by his last DJBooth track I’m Bleeding, Beta’s back with his new booming, fiercely lyrical cut Black Business. While the darkly soulful, epic Overok production would overwhelm most rappers, Beta’s more than up to the challenge here, spitting lines like “Out of the mouths of macks glow and astound / doubters doubt / people sit around / I crack open the floodgates / slow n**gers drown.” I’ll let that sink in for a minute…yeah, he’s that good. Black Business is the first leak off Beta’s upcoming project Inglorious Beta, due out on April 12, which will undoubtedly have more folks than just me calling him one of the “most underrated.”

Production has a nice lil' bounce to it and is the perfect canvas for K-Beta's ranting, punchline driven raps. DMV rapper is definitely turning heads with his consistency lately... Rotation fa sho!
