The auteur behind Jaws, Schindler’s List, the Indiana Jones flicks and countless other classics, Steven Spielberg is a worthy role model for any aspiring artist—even those whose medium of choice isn’t the silver screen. On the latest street single off his next Slave Shift mixtape, Jersey rhymesayer J.Y. channels the heavyweight director, showcasing his cinematic imagination over KB‘s synth production. Feeling it? While the long-delayed Falling Up still has yet to receive a drop date, fans can stay tuned for the latest. In the meantime, its predecessor, Waking Down, is still available for free streaming and download in The DJBooth.

I doubt this song would be on Steven's iPod playlist, and on the soundtrack to one of his new films, but its certainly nice to hear artists pay respects to legends inside and OUT of the music game. With that said (or typed, in this case) I think this is weak for J.Y. I have heard much better from him.

NIIIIIICE flow by J.Y. The KB production is catchy and I liked this and I like the concept of the song too.
