J.Y. is anything but what his moniker claims he is…a Jynx. With a remix featuring two of the most sought after names in the hip hop freestyling scene, he has to be doing something right, right?  Tell Me What It Is introduces the New Jersey native to the industry as a braggadocious, swagger-heavy emcee who is skilled in wordplay, but still knows how to party—just like his big-name co-signers, fellow East Coast natives Joe Budden Cory Gunz.  Producer Boola jumps on board, providing a festive beat to let these Jersey boys show everyone who’s the boss.  In the end, it’s well known that Jersey is in the building, and whoever’s got a problem with it, tell them…well, you know the rest.

I love the Boola production here. There's a sample from a Jay-Z song but I can't put my finger on it. Every artist killed it too.

The fuller sound in the beat should have been the entire song. It would have been much better without that bs humm sound. What a waste of potential production. The MCs killed it, but the production confuses the rapping vocally. Could have been so much better!

All three emcee's spit nice rhymes, but with such quality production from Boola, I cannot help but think there was more that could have been done over this beat. With that said, J.Y. is young and has time to grow as both a human and a rapper. FYI, gixxerredliner, if you checked out DJBooth on the regular, you'd be able to catch brand new music from both Joe Budden and Cory Gunz, who -yes- are both still alive and doin' the damn thing in the streets.

The beat is cool. Joey comes on and kills it. J.Y. was alright. CG is a problem. Good track.

That sample is from Jeezy's Mr. 17.5 and Joe goes off! C-Gunz is always a boss and J.Y is his initials... Just Yucky... lol
