Julius Francis - The Business
Artist: Julius Francis
Producer: Bei Maejor
Album: Musically Infected (The Mixtape)
Label: Palm Tree Ent.
Before Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Jason Segel (the writer and star of said flick) was a secondary actor in many other prominent comedies. The link between this trivia and today’s music? Julius Francis is currently paralleling that trend in the Booth with his latest track, The Business. We already know the singer from various collaborations with reader favorite K. Sparks and, while he has already had a solo feature, this track solidifies his status as a talent who doesn’t need to be paired with another artist in any conversation. Bei Maejor lays down a powerful beat to fuel the fire behind Francis’ lyrical storyline, which finds him giving in to the insatiable desires of a member of the opposite sex. If you liked this track, be sure to keep it locked to the Booth for more information on this rising star, including his Musically Infected mixtape drop date (which is still unannounced).

The beat is pretty good in this song. The synth playing the quick sounds gets kinda repetitive, but the vocals are pretty good coming from Francis. He has talent I will give him that. I give it a 3.5.

I'm not too sold on the production of this track. Juluis has a decent flow through out the track but the chorus seems too simple. The more I listen to the song the less I like it, nothing really special here for me. Sounds like a song R. Kelly would have rejected and someone else picked up the scraps from.

I agree with x20nickel on the production, the synths really repetitive. Julius Francis does a good job but nothing real special.

lemme smell it lemme smell it... He needs a new writer asap as well as a better engineer the vocals sound really muffled. The beat is Fire!

Julius has a great voice and certainly deserves some solo shine. The topical value of this song is weak, but the singing and melody is pretty catchy and without a doubt entertaining.
Bei Maejor is capable of more on the production tip, but since this beat was not tailor-made I won't find fault in either party for the production/vocal combo sounded slightly disjointed. |

Simplicity for me, is the intended target or what the artist was going for. There are two ways a track can go with this approach, that is either really popular and catchy, like Soulja Boys 'Crank That' or a bit of a simple song that just lies on your i pod and gets the occasional play. I don't think that this track has enough catchy to do it for me..

I love this song. I would personally only play it in the club very very rarely because it has a slower tempo but Julius comes of very vocal in this song. Some people say that the Chorus is to simple but that is typically what a Chorus is in rap. Although I would classify this song more of an R&B song. Because it is more of an R&B and a slower temp I will give it a 3 although i think Julius is very musically talented

is nice wow, i feel like im listening too a track by day 26 though and a ft by kelly would take this song over the top haha its funny though because the more i keep listenin the more i start seeing the kelly video "hiding in the closet" pt-1 and 2. he orally describes the scene pretty well almost to the point of TMI its a pleasant track definitly a 3 |

This is a pretty bland track especially when you consider the fact that he is talking about sexing a chick. If there was no hook screaming out "I GAVE HER THE BIZNESS" i prolly would never had known what the song was about. Thus Julius kinda failed in the flow and execution department. Kinda weak overall

This has a good beat and vocals but overall it is just an average r&b track that is pretty forgettable. 2.5 stars

While his previous song stirred up attention, this right here displays a more generic sound for my liking. While melodic additions may be at an up rise and have fallen into a conventional direction, the execution is lacking/forgettable, and it ultimately fell into the lackluster pit of 'okay at very best' status.

This song doesn't really do anything for me. Yes his vocals are pretty solid but that doesnt make it a good song. Julius has definetly got better stuff in him than this. Im not knocking the man just the song.
Its too boring, nothing stands out, nothing is sentimental, its just words. |

Julius can sing...but this song just doesn't work for me. I like him more as a featured guest. It's good that hes trying to tell a story in this song, but it was kinda "wishy-washy". But he always brings a solid effort.

I tend to like him more when he is paired up with K. Sparks. Although the concept in the song is good, Julius really needs to focus more on the lyrics. The hook for me was just not that great. Julius definitely has a unique voice, but this track didn't really shine for me. OK

Francis has undeniably an incredible voice, and Bei Maejor certainly is a talent to be on the watch out for. That being said, this doesn't work past rotation for me. It's certainly an enjoyable listen, but with so much talent on one record I expect more than 2:31.

I like the vocals and the beat individually, but not together. The beat is great, but not for this song. The vocal is great too. Kinda funny in some parts... not sure if it was supposed to be... but Julius Frances has good tone and awesome range so I know he's capable of great things. I'm want to hear more.
