Is there really such thing as Love at First Sight? Well, we can only hope; for those who looking to be swept off their feet in time for Valentine’s Day 2010, taking things slow just isn’t an option. (It’s looking like I’ll be spending Sunday evening hanging out with my cat, but I have my fingers crossed.) Booth newcomer Jori King is convinced it’s for real – on this new, Valentine’s-themed promo single, the West Coast singer serenades a shawty who came into his life without warning and had him “feelin’ like oh, oh, oh-oh, ooh yeah,” after a single glance. Backed by producer Malcy‘s fittingly romantic blend of synth-harp, strings, and overdubbed vocal harmonies, this slow jam will undoubtedly be a hit with happy couples, but even the bitterest of loners would be well-advised to give it a shot. Either way, if you’ve fallen head-over-heels King’s smooth sound, keep it locked to the Booth; this cut isn’t slated to appear on any forthcoming project, but you can rest assured we’ll bring you all the latest tunes from this rising r&b star.

Really caught me off guard with this one. I'm feeling everything from the lyrics, to the vocals, to the production. Jori's got one hell of a future ahead of him if he keeps this up. 4.5 stars.

A very nice record. Something I could hear Ne-Yo rocking over. While it does sound a lot like plenty of records to hit the radio the past few years, Jori follows the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" route. It works.

Very nice! The hook on this song is catchy, especially with the included harp and synth components. I can already hear this on the radio - works just as well now as it would have in the summer.

PeeWee Herman meets Carlton? The picture doesn't match the song at all. The track seems a little low-key. Even when I blast it, it leaves something to be desired. I see a lot of potential, but this track doesn't do it for me.

Damn, I don't think I've ever seen an artist get as involved in a DJBooth post as Jori. He obviously cares, much respect.
I'll have to hear some more from the man before I can make a better judgement, but based on this alone I'd like to hear some more emotion in the vocals. Really solid tracl but I'm not feeling it like I should. See Mario for how it's done.

great that some artist still appears and talks with us specially here, good song, very very good vocals you got there, but this is just not my kinda song, but Im pretty sure girls will love this and this could be a hit because of that. But great to listen to while driving to relax.

After a few more listens, I just have one thing to say:
Jori, where can I get a copy of this song? lol. I'd love to have this on the iPod to show some of my friends around school. P.S. Have you considered changing your stage name to "King Jori"? I think it's got a good ring to it. Just a suggestion. ;) |

wow this is asbolutely incredible! the sweet guitar/harp melody had me in a trance almost if you can believe it! his vocals are perfect on this, blew me away completely. im waiting for that second single jori, and i agree with phantastic- king jori has a nice ring to it.

Damn! Kid's really into it.
Nice smooth tune and Jori's singing is enjoyable to say the least. Good cut but nothing above than Rotation-Stuff. Will check out his future tracks... once he will release it haha. |
