Since winning the 6th season of American Idol, Jordin Sparks has been doing her best to avoid the quick path to irrelevance that former winners Fantasia Barrino, Reuben Studdard, and Taylor Hicks saw their careers go down. While her platinum single No Air has started her off on the right foot, she will have to consistently churn out hits if she is to survive the Idol curse. One Step At A Time, the third single from her self-titled debut album, is a highly melodic, radio-friendly pop song. Aided by producers Cutfather, Jonas Jeberg and Robbie Nevil, the harp-driven beat takes a backseat to her ear-filling vocals. Whether Sparks is for real remains to be seen, but as of now it would appear that she is headed in the right direction.
Nope. Her voice just doesnt fit anything she makes to me.. I think she can sing, i just dont really like it. I dont HATE this song, but i like it more than "No Air" & "Tattoo"
she's type sexy i agree wit mmichaelhannah, anywayz da music dose sound like a disney song eewwwwwww!!!! its okay for dat type of audience i guess. 1 for jordan and 2 stars for da kids
Sparks' debut was a solid effort and this was a more-than solid choice for the new single. With that said, Jordin, what was with the lip syncing act at the Super Bowl???
Boring!! I couldnt stop yawning..
definitely sounds like something u'd listen from the disney chanel.. so yeh take it or leave it lol
and sorry but i think she kinda need to lose weight!
She has a GREAT voice, but i dont think she's unleashed her full potential yet, No Air put her vocals to the test, but it still didnt push them as far as they could go in my opinion.. Her album should SHOOT TO THE SKY with the 11 year old girls and stuff, but to bad she's on a label like Jive.. who;s best known for HOLDING ALBUMS BACK!, Jive.. just let them go..
Disney Channel produces some bomb tracks, so I don't know what y'all talking about. Calling this a Disney sounding track is a compliment. Only ignorant and people not comfortable enough with this adulthood listens to a Disney song and is afraid to actually say they like it simply because the fact it's Disney, or even better yet, scratch that, HOW ABOUT EVEN PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS SO UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THEIR "HOOD" or "MATURE" CLOUT THAT THEY CAN ADMIT TO ENDORSING SOMETHING POSITIVE. Yeah, you know who you are. Lames in my book.
Love her voice, she has a powerful voice for being so young. That a lot gives this song three stars in my book. I'm sure this will get radio play, as it deserves, but I won't be listening to it again.
