After Jon B.‘s fourth studio album, Stronger Everyday, became his first effort to not reach gold status, the R&B singer faded from the national spotlight for almost three years. Then, in April of 2007, the Pawtucket, Rhode Island native provided the hook, background vocals, and production for Paul Wall‘s Tonight. On October 28, the world will get to hear the fruits of his low-key labors in the form of album number 5, Helpless Romantic. On the album’s first single, Wall returns the favor and teams up with Jon to paint a vivid portrait of how Oh So Sexy their respective women are. The perfect soundtrack for an evening in, Oh So Sexy should find a comfortable long-term home on the urban AC and your local radio station’s “quiet storm” block.
I LIKE THE PRODUCTION FROM JON B ON THIS SOUNDS SMOOTH WIT HIS VOICE AND SUITS THE BEAT QUITE NICELY,SOMEHOW TO ME PAUL WALL FEELS OUT OF PLACE ON THIS ONE BUT ITS A DECENT TRACK ANYWAY
Jon is one of the greats. He got some fire in his catalog. Its good to see the man back in form. The other song he did with Pall wall on Palls album was my @*#$!. This one isn't as dope. But its a nice light track. Look 4ward to the album.
The production is smooth and sexy, they have got good voices but I'm not crazy for the melody of this song...I don't like the chorus, the verses are decent. It's in rotation, could be improved!
I swear I was wondering what the heck happened to Jon B! Now I see he is coming back soon! This is a very very good start. His vocals are still smooth and crisp (which is why Tupac chose him for the song "are you still down" over many other TOP r&b artists that were killing it at the time). The production is by himself and he does a hell of a job there too! Paul Wall is ok, but it didn't need him to be a BANGER!
Jon is a staple voice from the 90's. If you don't know who this man is... please do some homework. I like the Paul Wall feature and the self-production from JB. Nice record.
Jon B been my man since he firstcame out. This track right here is smooth something you play in the whip wit ya lady or n the crib just chillin. I've been waiting for a Jon B record for a while now.
Welcome back, Jon B.! I have been a major of his since he came on the national music scene in 1995. Very talented, sorely underrated. Like the new song. I would LOVE IF he hadn't ruined it somewhat by throwing Paul Wall on it. WHY??!! Why do some TALENTED artist throw crappers on their songs. I hope to track down a no-rap version. Can't wait to hear the new CD. I pray to God that Jon B. does not bog down his CD with crappers. Please, Jon, don't go out like that.
