It’s out with the old John and in with the new! Gearing up to release his third studio album, Evolver, this September, GOOD Music/Columbia recording artist John Legend has put his live instrumentation tracks on the back burner and will instead focus on production with up-tempo drums loops and new-age synthesizers from the likes of Kanye West and The Neptunes. Joining Legend on the funky acid jazz-like Green Light, a potential first single off the upcoming project, is Outkast’s Andre 3000. Together, the pairing is an absolute musical match; so harmonious, in fact, that it should have plenty of fans clamoring for an entire collaborative project. DJBooth will provide more details on Legend’s new project as they emerge in the coming months.

DAAAAMN! This song here is hot! I love the production and John Legend sounds great on here! What a great collabo between him and 3 Stacks also, such a random collabo but it works! 3000 sounds great on here too...this is an instant BANGER and I am ready to here more material for this upcoming album!

I'm really excited about this! I've been wondering when my boy John was going to drop a new album. I see everyone is reinventing themselves, and I guess Mr. Legend is no different. I will say I definitely dug they classical style piano and ballad based music he was putting out previously, but I'm all for changing up, especially when it's as dope as this. Andre was free-styling definitely and it was dope! LOL. This is super ill. CLASSIC!

This is why Andre 3K is top 5 dead or alive. Consider he is in the great Hip-Hop group of all time, and his lyrics are top 10 at least, you have to say top 5 dead or alive. As far as the song although I dont think it is a classic per say, it is flawless, which makes me say oits 5 out of 5.

Oh yes ... a solid first single. It has similar vibe to save room but at a faster pace. John and Andre on the same record, man this sounds nice. A 4.5 right here.

As a huge John Legend fan I was a bit dissapointed to hear he would be changing up his style for his 3rd album however, after hearing this, I feel as if I can rest assured, this album is going to be a classic.
Undoubtedly the best R&B track to come out this year. F*** Chris Brown. John Legend shows everyone what real R&B is all about. |

John Legend and Andre 3000 nail it on the spot. This style is so refreshing for John and it just takes his career to an entirely different level. Andre has been showcasing his ability on the mic during the past year and his sophisication comes out strong on this feature. They should really do a collabo album together. I don't know if John's older fans are going to dig this but who cares!

You can tell you LOVE a song when you’ve spent the past month listening over and over to a SNIPPET!!! lol That’s just how good this is! I can’t get enough of John Legend’s distinctive voice and emotive singing style! Production is amazing and the whole melody sounds FRESH!!! Andre is what rapping should be about (oh, his part just after the chorus is great, but only him could pull that off)!

Last night I checked this track out and was like meh, people are only giving it solid ratings cause of the collabo...But now I have actually played it out and listened and simply put...THIS TRACK IS SPITTING FIRE! I mean the beat is on point and the flava is fresh to def! I'm feeling it more than a lot of tracks i've caught on here lately this is a Classic...
