Over the last several months, rapper Joell Ortiz has spoken openly about a crazy mixtape project that he’s had in the works. The release date that Ortiz gave to various reporters for the drop of Free Agent was April 15. If you logged on and tried to find the mixtape on Tuesday, however, you soon realized it was nowhere to be found. While the project will indeed still drop (when we do not know), a new Ortiz joint, entitled Get This Dough, will have to suffice in the meantime. Featuring former Dipset affiliate, Max B, the gist of the song (and the whole project) is that Ortiz’ unreal MC talent cannot be wasted as a bench player on Aftermath. Ortiz still has to make himself a living, however, which is why he asked Dr. Dre for a release from his contact earlier this year.
I dig the production. Joell's flow and voice on this is on point. The engineering (mixing) on this is crispy tyte! I like the lyrics too...they rock okay.
Who produced this beat? It is insane. This is going to sound nice in my ride. J.O. handles this beat like a rapper is supposed to. The hook is on point. THIS IS A BANGER!!!! NY IS BACK!!
I had to listen to this track again to make sure that it wass a banger. I agree with my previous comment: it's a BANGER. I would of had 50 cent do the hook instead of Max B but he did a good job.
wow i heard about ortiz for a while and i can't wait to see him make it big, ortiz lyrics are sick and he has potential to be a very hot rapper...........i agree with jesavail02 the is hot and would have loved to hear someone else do the chourus, but i dont know about 50 though
i enjoy listening to this guy but how about chamillionaire on the hook i think that would have been better is this a dr. dre beat it is good i have heard him come harder than this though
I'm not a big fan of his style, but it's pretty cool. It's unique in my opinion, which I like to give him credit for. I think he did pretty good on the song. I just don't like that he sounds like he's talking about just trying to get money and go. That's not the whole point of hip hop. Either that or he's promoting the opposite talking about how he used to just try to get the money and go and how that was wrong or something.
Joell is an absolute monster; he just needs a chance. Thought I have high hopes for him, I'm afraid an MC of his caliber and skill set will have a hard time sticking with a major.
this is tight .... the only down part or this track is the hook .... kinda sounds like some retarded 50 voice .... lol but other then that is in rot .... has that ny mixtape beat
