Ever since his release from Aftermath/Interscope, Joell Ortiz has worn his “Free Agent” status proudly, both as a sign of self-sufficiency and a call for labels better able to handle him.  For now, the Brooklynite is planning to release his sophomore album (also called Free Agent) on E1 Music (formerly known as Koch Records, the label by which he released his critically-acclaimed debut).  Though the title of his new single, Bout My Money, might worry longtime fans, Joell explains in the intro that “this is… that recession music right here!”  Throw Joell’s aggressive lyricism over Needlz’ brass-synth-organ beat and you have a radio hit without the ‘sellout’ aftertaste.  Free Agent (The Album) is set to hit stores and online retailers this summer.

This production goes very heard. Joell smashed this. The hook could have been better. This is decent though. I'll throw it rotation. It's not the greatest though and it's not even really my daily steez.

This joint is tight not only because it has a mainstream beat that people can dance or post the wall to,... but it also got lyricism and flow you have to check out... 3.5

lol, I knew this track reminded me of something... I got it now... the beat goes like a slowed down "4 minutes" by Timbaland! I dont think Joell'd like this comparison though, lol

Joell's got real talent... I bout his first release from Koch and was really excited 4 his Aftermath release. His flow over Dr. beats on an entire album would be CLASSIC...

Anyway, that's in the past. Joell still kills it every time, I just don't feel like he has such a good chance to hit it big anymore. The hook on this is kinda cool, but a lil boring. Overall, its average production and an average hook surrounded by an above average concept and an above average lyricist.
