Yeah, that’s right, Joell Ortiz and Slaughterhouse have been taking over the Booth lately. Any problems with that? We didn’t think so. Just a few days after Joell declared life to be So Hard, and just one day after group effort Back on the Scene earned high marks, Ortiz is back with a brand new remix to Put Some Money on It that features, you guessed it, the men of microphone slaughter. While a live percussion based beat from Sean C & LV (of Grind Music) nods in the background, Joell, Crooked, Royce and Budden take turns on the mic, with The Lox joining in for good measure. If anything it’s too much of a good thing, but at the very least it should provide y’all with no shortage of “who did it best?” debate in the comments below (my money’s on Crooked.) While Joell’s upcoming and long-awaited album, Free Agent, won’t feature this remix when it drops on February 22, the original’s nothing to laugh at either.

I didn't hear the original version when it leaked back in December, but I am glad because this blows that version out of the water. This is what Ice Cube was talking about when he intimated that music could act as a lethal injection to your system.

This song is crazy. Just monster after monster jumping on the beat and ripping it. Nice beat, but going "Put Some Money On It" over and over kinda was annoying. Still the beat killed and the guys just did work on this beat. This song went more HAM than HAM went HAM

Would have likes to have hears a little more from Royce and Budden, but then the track would have been 17 minutes long. As far as I'm concerned, Crooked absolutely owned this track.

Who you got?

I dont know why but i hate when ppl start spittin within the first 4 secs. It just goes in too fast and too hard to really hook me in... Therefore im really not feeling this from Joell. Btw his verse was terrible. It sounds nice cuz his flow goes great with the production. But if you really listen to his lyrics, they are random and all over the place. The same thing happened with Slaughterhouse and D-Block. I hate random rappers.

@ Nathan, the "problem" with SH tracks is that they could all be 15mins long, what's not a problem is that most of em would be better than 99% of everything else out there. I liked Royce on this but Crooked owns it. I may goin a bit Stan but SH really are THE Rap Supergroup (Wu-Tang excluded).

Im sorry, I refeused to act like i aint biased when it comes to Joell... Im a Cali cat and Joell was one of them cats that i believe was gone bring real hiphop back... him and corey Gunz... its ridiculous when dope MC's kill a track nowadays.. its almost like nostalgia after remembering mid 90's hiphop sounded like this.
