Named after the second most famous giant ape movie star in the world, Schweinfurt, Germany native Joe Young is ready to become hip-hop’s newest international sensation. His upcoming “album before the album,” Joe Young the Great Ape, is basically a summary of who he is as an MC (if you’ve seen his promo ads and art, the ape is to him what Sonic the Hedgehog is to Charles Hamilton). In this era of economic downturn, Joe knows everybody’s out for everybody else’s money, so we’ve got to be Watching Our Dollars more closely than ever before. Featuring Raekwon the Chef (having helped with C.R.E.A.M., he knows a thing or two about the topic) and Joey Majors of Bunji (The Merge), as well as a beat by Mercury the Jerzey Beast (P. Diddy, Black Rob, & Mark Curry‘s Bad Boy For Life), Watching Our Dollars proves that true hip-hop talent knows no borders.

Damn, he sounds pretty bad on here. It sounds like very elementary rap. The beat is cool, so that's not really to blame here. The delivery of Joe Young is just off. Raekwon saves the day on here.

It makes sense that a lot of people might find Joe's flow and cadence "off" since he is, after all, not from the good 'ol US of A. International artists just come off differently on the mic, its an acquired taste.
Agreed, the beat here is GREAT and the CHEF always gives it his all on feature verses. Wanna hear more.

yea very elementary lyrics, no punchlines, dude dont sound like a rapper , beat is cool but i just aint intrested in a track that sounds like they took an acapella off another track and mixed it with a beat that has a completly different tone

Liked the beat, liked the hook, liked Raekwon but the rest of the song was just ok for me. Doesn't do anything to make me want to listen to it again.

Finally! I have to give this man props, because his beat is different. It's not something I've heard before, which is a nice change from what you usually hear nowadays. Like it or hate it, I won't esily forget it. In Rotation.
