Joe Budden - Remember the Titans
Artist: Joe Budden
Featuring: Lloyd Banks , Fabolous , Royce Da 5'9"
Producer: J. Cardim
Album: Mood Muzik 4: A Turn 4 the Worst
Label: eOne
While the South may have have a nice run, thanks to vets like Slaughterhouse, Fabolous, and Banks, the North is definitely trying to take back the hip hop game. Leading the charge is Joe Budden, who with the help of Royce Da 5’9”, Loso and Banks drops a gem off his Mood Muzik 4 mixtape in the form of Remember the Titans. Produced by J. Cardim, who is no stranger to working with New York artists such as Talib Kweli, Maino and Saigon, the beat has a heavy bass and some simple yet traversed synthesizers that you know is begging to be ripped for freestyles. From the start of Fabolous’ verse, all the way to the end of Detroit native Royce’s, each emcee does not disappoint in their flows. With punchline after punchline after punchline, there’s so many lyrical jabs thrown that you would think the song title would be Rocky, rather than Remember the Titans. Mood Muzik 4: A Turn 4 the Worst drops digitally on October 26.

It seems as though Kanye has brought back the posse cut in 2010. Somewhere Craig Mack is thrilled! While I don't care much for Banks' contribution to this record, the J. Cardim beat and 16s from Budden, Royce, and Fab all make it a solid listen. Mood Muzik 4 is shaping up to be a must-listen release.

All but Banks came so hard...Loso, Budden, and Royce all dropped sick line after sick line
I dont like Banks and don't see what people see in him. He's like Gucci, you cant understand what he's saying half the time. Voice is way to raspy, why cant speak clearly |

THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE AFFECT IS IN FULL SWING. ONE ALBUM IN AND THEY HAVE CREATED A RIPPLE EFFECT THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE GAME. WOW, SPEAKIN' OF THE SOUTH THOUGH TAKE BANKS OUT OF THE MIX AND THROW IN YOUNG BUCK. I CAN JUST HEAR HIM ALL OVER THIS TRACK. HE WAS ALWAYS MY FAVORITE G-UNIT MEMBER ANYWAY. THE SOUTH HAS SOME LYRICS TOO.. NICE TRACK ALL AROUND

I enjoy 100% with RealTalk, Young Buck woulda torn this beat apart! Royce was insanity wasn't he!? Banks wasn't ALL that bad in my opinion but yeah he didn't fit in too well...

From Swagga Like Us to Forever to most of the songs from Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music. It seems like posse cut songs are coming back. This is more of a street record like Raekwon's House of Flying Daggers but stil just as a great as the rest.
Banks and Budden were good but Royce was too over the top with his voice. It sounded like he was trying to hard to out do everyone. Fab was overrall my favorite. |

Don't see what's the hate with Banks, I mean yeah other 3 mc's def did better than him, but it's because they were focusing on punchlines, while he was focusing on the flow(should've focused on punchlines though), and yeah the voice was raspy, but other than that his verse is good, because you relax your brains from that monster budden verse, just listening to his flow, then you are hit with royce da 5'9. The hardest line in the song: like groceries, make sure bread is separated, put the fruits in the bag.

And Royce, please go harder with yo lyrics, not your voice, you can't be considered the best among the slaughterhouse, when you're dropping lines like: the drunk me boxes like the sober you, while joe is saying somethin like: make the track bust, by showing my dick size to the pro tools.

Might as well respond to DJ Something above. I don't think anyone here is hating on Banks. On a track like this the "who did it best" question is inevitable, and I don't think there's any question Banks verse was the weakest. That doesn't mean he's a wack emcee, just that he's not among the best.
At first I had Royce as the top, but the more I listen to Loso's verse the better it gets. I don't know if folks are even catching half the references he throws out. I think it's safe to say that's officially the first Jeff Goldblum reference in rap history. |

Loso did his thing but Nicki dropped a beeter duck duck goose line than him. The rest sounded like Freeworld rappers in 8 Mile. Didnt know Lotto got a deal outta that. But I will say the punch lines were beastin in this song. waynes got the drop on this we he gets to it

This song is solid, I thought the best verse was from Loso.
