Eager to release an album for the first time since his ‘03 debut, rapper Joe Budden has decided to give his fans a little appetizer before his sophomore album Padded Room drops this May. From his December-released Mood Muzik 3 mixtape, Jump Off Joey axed three songs (and two skits), added two new songs and re-packaged the disc for the Amalgam Digital release of Mood Muzik 3.5. One of the two new songs, 4 Walls, is everything you’d come to expect from Joe Budden mixtape work; strong lyricism, complex analogies to support his points, and a deep, soulful beat to accent the mood. MM3.5 and a DJBooth exclusive interview with Budden will both be available on February 26.
Sounds good....but just too close to that Jay track. Beat and flow sounds really close. But I like Budden and he does have some of the craziest lyrical skills in the game so I'ma still give it a 3.
I predict that '08 is going to be the breakthrough year for Joe Budden. He has been swirling around in the mixtape scene for so long that it is finally time for him to earn widespread attention. His style and lyricism is something a lot of hip-hop are looking for. this guy can spit.
Let me first say, today is one of the BEST song selections and reviews by the DJBooth crew. I don't think I had a rating below a 3 STAR tonight. I started listening from the bottom of the list tonight. Ooo ... a nice old school beat revitalized! Joe does a great job on this track.
i love everything joe raps about...he really sounds like a prisoner of his own thoughts and like bob marley it seems like his home is in his head...in this song his lyrics are awesome and he displays the feeling of being stuck and having your thoughts eat at you very well...great lyrical ability and content
i feel i gotta put put finger to keyboard on dis one there aint many tunz i can bare to listen to with heavy guitar this is a nice production right i`m gonna have another listen
This what im talking bout!! Joey is thet hottest EMCEE out! He is bringing lyrics back to the game and he will be a problem in '08! Like I say Hiphop Will Not DIE!!
Jersey STAND-UP!!!! I love it when someone reps the best place in the whole entire universe (just kiddin peoplez)! Joe buddens lyrically KILLS this track. This beat is SICK and the lyrics are just amazing. This is Buddens at his best right here!!!!! This is Hip-Hop in its rarest form!
Are you in that mood yet !!!!!! Killah Bh You get in them shoes yet !!! lmao Jerzz!!!!! Buddens is a beast and the klasixs came a long way from making Brick city club music. there beats are crazy brick bandits on the rise they got a good movement going putting jersey on the map... Respect buddens lyrics are crazy
good song, i have never like Budden but this is a solid track! Only thing i really disliked is the overly long intro, he didnt start rapping til 1:00 into the song!
At this point I can't wait for Joe Budden's album to drop. He has always been at a different level lyrically then so many other artists. I would even place him right up there with Jay, Biggie, Tupac, M&M. It's too bad he was never marketed right, or may be he just didn't sell out to the game, whatever it is this track and the others on his mixtape might put him over the top. I would also recommend the track Dear Diary also on the mixtape, crazy people crazy!
Joe been getting better each year and sounds like he at the top of his game right now. Think he got better after the whole beaf wit Game he had. Liked this joint and most of his past joints too.
I can not believe it took a song like this for me to leave a comment; but my hate for this song is so strong it must be expressed. Joe Budden can eat a d*ck; how can you make a diss track, tell a person (Jay-Z) to stop rapping, then jack his flow from "My First Song". Who knows maybe if he kept to his word he would have received three stars; but that would also require him to have some originality.
